Hi and welcome to this In Your Element meditation space.
In this practice we will be tuning in to the elements and noticing which ones feel most dominant within us and perhaps where we would like to find some balance and ease within them.
As always to begin come to find your place of comfort and just take a few moments to settle into the space,
Making any adjustments,
Closing down the eyes if that feels okay for you and then rolling the shoulders back softening the space between the eyebrows,
Signaling to the body that it's safe to be here.
Just noticing how you feel being in this space,
Taking a moment just to check in with how you are in this moment.
Becoming aware of the breath,
The sensations as it flows in and out and using this as your anchor,
When the mind wanders allow the breath to bring you back into this space.
Now invite you to feel the sensations of the air in this space,
Perhaps noticing the temperature,
Being aware of any sensations on your skin,
Any smells as you breathe in,
Just how it feels to be sat in the ether,
Aware of all the air flowing around you,
Coming in through the nostrils,
Out through the nostrils back into this space.
Noticing the air elements existing within you,
Becoming aware of the mind and the thoughts,
Perhaps noticing if you're feeling restlessness right now,
Maybe you're noticing this awareness that it's uncomfortable to sit in this space as though you want to move on to the next thing.
Just seeing how that lands with you,
Becoming aware of how this light moving energy is remerring within you right now.
Then drawing that awareness down to the parts of the body that are in contact with the earth,
Noticing the parts of the body that feel the heaviest and the parts that feel the lightest.
Just being aware of how strong this connection feels to you,
You in contact with the earth having it hold you in this space,
Do you feel grounded right now?
Do you feel safe to be still in this space?
Are you able to just sink into letting things unfold?
Then noticing how true those statements,
Those questions feel for you,
Starting to tap into the sensation of heat within the body.
Where are you noticing heat arise?
Can you feel the sensation of warmth anywhere in the body?
Can you feel a sensation of fire building anywhere?
Noticing how that feels,
Are you wanting to act on that fire right now?
Is there something you want to go and do?
Is there a feeling that feels quite strong and overwhelming here?
Perhaps you're noticing a sense of urgency.
Just thinking how that resonates with you.
Then spending a few moments thinking about your next inhale and inviting it to come all the way from the base of your spine up through the body to the top of the head.
And then when you exhale it follows that same path.
And as you take these long deep inhales and exhales,
You need to become aware of what feels most dominant within you right now.
Are you feeling into this airy sense,
This sense of change,
Mind wandering?
Perhaps a little bit of restlessness.
Are you feeling grounded in this space,
At peace with being here,
Settled?
Can you feel the sensation of fire,
This get up and go,
This reactive state of being?
I'm just noticing.
And perhaps you feel all of these elements,
Or one or two of them,
And that's perfectly normal with nuanced beings.
All three of these elements exist within us.
It's just at times we may feel one or two more dominant than the others.
So just spending a few moments breathing into that now.
And then coming to ask yourself the question,
What would bring me into balance right now?
We speak about these elements,
We often need to bring in the opposite.
So if we're feeling very dominant in air,
We need a sense of this grounding.
If we're feeling this fiery energy,
Again we can lean to grounding.
And if we're feeling really,
Really grounded,
We can lean into more of this fire.
Creating this balance,
Creating this harmony.
So what do you feel you need to find balance right now?
Maybe you already feel balanced and that's fine.
