Hello,
It's Lorraine here and we're going to do a chakra meditation today.
This chakra meditation is a good one to prepare you for the week.
So I'm just going to ask you to sit down with your feet touching the ground or on a cushion.
Invite you to just close your eyes and be aware of your breath.
And sometimes when we close our eyes we start to become aware how our body doesn't feel quite as comfortable.
So adjust your position.
Why not give yourself a nice,
Deep,
Long tummy breath,
Which means imagining your breath can go all the way through your body,
Filling up your tummy with your breath.
And then as you breathe out,
Relax all the muscles around your tummy,
Your lower abdomen.
Just give them permission to soften and relax.
And do that a few times if that works for you.
And just being curious about how you're feeling today,
What your thoughts are.
Just giving yourself permission to notice that and not having to have this perfect meditation.
Just being very present with who you are in this moment.
That's okay.
So if your mind is busy or it keeps hijacking you throughout the meditation with things you've got to do,
Just accept that's what it's doing and come back to your breath.
That's okay.
And just see if you can tune into the breath or sometimes the body,
Just giving it a little squeeze,
Squeezing your legs or your feet can just help you re-centre and just feel a little bit more back in the moment,
Back here.
So doing whatever you need to do to feel a little bit more present and in the moment.
I'm going to invite you now to take your attention to the very base of your spine.
And I want you to imagine that there is a beautiful flower in the base of your spine.
And I'd like you to imagine a dahlia.
Dahlia is a really unusual flower.
There's lots of different types but some of them look like pom-poms.
They have this wonderful geometric pattern.
And have all these little interconnecting petals.
I want you to imagine you have a beautiful red dahlia at the base of your spine.
And there's something about the geometric pattern of that flower that's very important for this meditation.
So either imagine it or imagine holding one between your hands to get that sensation of it and placing it into your root chakra at the base of your spine.
And at this stage it doesn't really matter what the colour of that flower is because whatever the colour is is actually the one that needs to balance your root chakra.
So be curious about the colour of that flower in your root.
And just imagine that your root is absorbing the incredible energy,
That connected pattern of the flower that unfolds without any effort,
Without any resistance.
It just helps this pocket of beauty in the world moving it into your root chakra.
And you're just curious about the shape and the colour of that flower moving into your root.
Just aware of how that feels.
Just really curious about it.
And even when you take your attention away from it,
Which you will in the meditation,
It will continue to work on your root chakra.
There's no need for you to control it.
You're just setting the intention of making the connection between that geometric design of the flower and its colour into your root.
Preparing the ground for new ideas,
Balance,
Whatever it is that you need.
So let's move up now into the sacral energy centre.
Let's be curious about the energy of our sacral that connects to the hips and the lower back.
Just be curious about thoughts that pop up when you pay attention to this.
Maybe there's resistance there,
Maybe there's frustration or tension.
Just see if you can sit with that,
Not trying to force it to change or getting frustrated.
Just breathe and sit with that.
Open or close your sacral chakra fields today,
In this moment.
And again,
Let's bring that beautiful geometric pattern of the delia,
Let's bring it into your sacral chakra.
Again,
The colour of that flower will depend on what you need in this moment.
So be curious about the colour of the flower.
It may not match the colour of the sacral,
It may be different,
Because that's what your sacral chakra,
Your creative centre needs in this moment.
Be really curious about the pattern and the colour that's moving,
Settling into your sacral chakra,
Bringing whatever your sacral chakra needs in this moment.
Just planting this beautiful flower into your sacral.
No need to control or do anything with it,
Just being curious.
Just imagining,
Feeling,
Breathing.
Let's move up into the solar plexus now.
That sits just beneath your chest in the core of your body,
Next to your ribs,
The sides of your body,
Your middle back,
A lot of your digestive organs connecting to the solar plexus.
Notice again what comes up in your thoughts,
Your feelings about this part of your body.
We can often judge this part of our body,
So just be really curious about that.
No need to give yourself a hard time,
Just be curious about it.
Now we're just going to bring our geometric pattern of the dahlia into our solar plexus.
This repeating pattern,
This connection between the petals.
Bring it in to the solar plexus.
The world still exists all around you,
It's still there,
But you're just shifting your attention to the geometric pattern of the dahlia going into your solar plexus,
Bringing the color it needs in this moment.
Taking a second,
A sip of cool water on a hot day.
You're just giving your energy,
Your body,
Exactly what it needs.
And just curious about what you notice and feel.
And it'll continue to work beyond your attention being on it,
So let's shift our focus up to the heart.
And it's the center of the chest,
Connects to our chest,
Our lungs,
Connects to our shoulders,
Our upper back,
Connects to our arms and hands and fingers.
Paying attention to that part of your body,
Connects to your energy of the heart.
Let's bring that geometric pattern of the dahlia into your heart center.
Curious about the color of your dahlia,
What your heart needs today.
Bringing that pattern and the energy into your heart.
And curious about what it is,
And just noticing and feeling and sensing.
You might notice little twitches now and again,
Or a need to yawn.
These are just adjustments in your body and your energy to what meditation space is holding for you.
Come back to that beautiful flower in your heart,
Connecting in.
Restoring balance.
Easing into it.
Moving up now into the throat,
Into the throat chakra.
Connecting into the sides,
The front and the back of the neck.
Even moves into the very base of the back of your skull,
Into your ears,
Into your jaw,
Your tongue,
Your teeth,
Your mouth.
Into the clavicle area,
The top of your chest.
Now we're going to place our geometric flower,
Our dahlia,
Into the throat center.
Curious about the sensation,
The color,
That moves into our throat chakra.
It connects to all sides of the throat.
It's not just you place it from the front,
It connects into the sides,
The back,
Everything.
Filling that part of you with its energy.
Let's move up now towards the brow.
The brow is just between your eyebrows,
Just on your forehead.
Connects to your pituitary,
Pineal gland,
And master gland.
It connects to your eyes.
And we're just going to take our beautiful dahlia flower,
The geometric pattern,
And its color that's appropriate for you today,
Into your brow chakra.
I'm just curious as it starts to connect into that part of you,
By helping with the connection in your own brow chakra.
Balancing left and right,
Front and back,
The geometric pattern and its color that you need today.
Breathing and noticing.
It continues to work,
Even when we shift our focus away from it.
Move into the crown.
Aware of a beautiful,
Golden dahlia coming into our crown.
For some reason it's important to mention it's a golden dahlia.
So we're bringing that color and the pattern of the flower into your crown.
With no effort,
Just with curiosity.
In fact,
It's as if it's always been there,
You've just become aware of it.
That connection with that interconnecting pattern of dahlia.
Just allowing the gentleness of the pattern of that flower to really help ease and soothe your crown chakra.
Or any resistance to being in your crown chakra.
And as you focus on this one,
You realize that all the other dahlias and other chakras are being supported,
Fed by this crown chakra.
Your brow,
Your throat,
Your heart,
Your solar plexus,
Your sacral,
Your root,
All are connected.
Being supported,
Being guided.
I'm going to take some of this crown energy right down through all the other chakras.
Move down your spine,
Letting it rest in your root for a few moments.
Move down through your legs,
Your feet,
Into the erstar chakra,
Beneath the soles of your feet,
Beneath your body,
And the ground,
Whether your feet are connected physically or not.
Just letting that beautiful geometric pattern of the dahlia from the crown connect into your erstar chakra.
Just confirming your purpose.
Guiding you to your next important step.
Whatever that may be for you personally or professionally.
So at this point you can,
With working with your energy,
Just come back to your breath again.
And you can choose to just guide your awareness back into your body with every breath.
Connecting to the sense of touch again.
And you can make this your chakra meditation for the week.
Up to you.
If you do decide to bring yourself back and end this meditation,
Make sure you drink some water,
Have a really good stretch,
A little bit of movement,
Get you right back into your body again.
