This meditation was created with all those who struggle with feeling they have permission to take a break in their day in mind. While it can not resolve years of being indoctrinated to be busy in order to be someone of worth, we invite you to utilize this anytime you want to sit with this concept of productive rest. We all deserve a moment to reset and make room for ourselves in our days.

Let's begin by finding a comfortable seated position Or if lying down feels better feel free to do so Either way allowing your body to settle into this position Feeling supported Gradually relaxing Gently gaze around the room you're in Noticing how everything has landed here and if it feels right for you Slowly close your eyes Or lower your gaze Attuning to your breath Allowing it to become slow and steady As you breathe bring your awareness to any areas of tension or tightness in your body Notice what shifts as you exhale Maybe even imagining releasing this tension Using the power of your breath to soften and relax every part of you Now gently shift your focus to your thoughts and emotions Notice if there's a sense of pressure or urgency stemming from a productivity-based mindset You may acknowledge any feelings of guilt or self-criticism that may arise See if you can do this without judgment You may notice some resistance in this But see if you can remind yourself That your worth is not determined by your productivity And not by your achievements You are inherently valuable Simply by existing Allow this truth to sink in deeply Like a soothing balm for your soul With this understanding Gently release any attachment to outcomes or expectations Allow yourself to let go of the need to constantly strive for productivity and perfection Instead try to embrace the concept of productive rest Recognizing that taking care of yourself is a valuable and worthwhile endeavor in its own right I'll invite you now to repeat the following affirmations to yourself Allowing them to resonate within you My worth is not tied to my productivity.

I am enough just as I am.

I release the need to constantly push myself and achieve more Rest is an essential part of my well-being I give myself permission to prioritize self-care and rest without guilt or shame If guilt or shame presents itself,

I will not judge these emotions But simply recognize that they stem from years of being told I need to Be productive in order to be accepted Embracing rest is an act of self-love and empowerment It allows me to recharge and show up as my best self As you repeat these affirmations Visualize yourself surrounded by all those who support you Notice the light and the warmth that radiates out from them And absorb every ounce of this energy See if you can also send out this light first to your body Then to your community As we all need this reminder that we are enough as we are And we are worthy of rest And that we need rest When you're ready bring your attention back to your breath With each inhale imagine drawing in a sense of calm and peace With each exhale imagine releasing any lingering tension or resistance to rest Take a few more moments to simply be Allowing yourself to savor the feeling of peace and contentment that comes with embracing rest When you feel ready gently bring your awareness back to the present moment Wiggle your fingers and toes And slowly open your eyes Carry the sense of productive rest with you throughout your day Knowing that by taking care of yourself you are nurturing your inner well-being and Reclaiming your sense of worth beyond productivity Thank you for your practice

I loved this! The only way it could be improved is keeping the affirmations on the shorter side as a couple were a bit long to keep in mind before repeating. Thank you!
