Future You Contribution.
This is part three of the most important questions.
So the first lot was experiences,
The second lot was growth and the third is contribution.
So again,
We're going to do a practical exercise followed by a meditation.
So you will need a piece of paper and a pen.
Or maybe just your reminder on your phone,
Anywhere you can write notes.
Just bringing your attention to the present moment.
Let's start today with an awareness of your breath.
Just feeling the cooler air coming in.
And the warmer air coming out.
Whether that's through your nose and your mouth or your mouth.
Just gently closing your eyes.
Just feeling that again.
The cooler air coming in.
And the warmer air going out.
And just opening your eyes now.
So this question is,
How do you want to contribute to the world?
So what will be your legacy?
How will you make the world a slightly better place?
Do you have a problem that you'd like to solve for humanity?
How can you contribute to your family,
Friends,
Society?
So just jot down anything that comes to you as I ask you certain questions.
So your career,
What are your visions for your career?
How would you like to improve your workplace?
Perhaps you have a contribution.
To your field that you like to make or a different field altogether.
What career might you like to get into?
And just a note here to say that the previous two experiences and growth,
There might be some overlap.
So that's that's absolutely fine.
So the next section is your creative life.
So what creative activities do you love to do?
Would you like to learn?
Anything from cooking,
Singing,
Photography,
Poetry.
Developing software even.
What are some ways you can share your creative self with the world?
OK,
Now moving on to your family life.
So picture yourself being with your family.
Not as you think you should be,
But in ways that fill you with happiness.
What are you doing and saying?
What wonderful experiences are you having together.
What values do you want to pass along?
What can you contribute to your family that's unique to you?
Family can mean different things to different people.
It can mean cohabiting partners,
A same-sex partner,
A marriage where you decide not to have children,
Or a single life where you consider a few close friends as family.
So just creating your new model of reality.
What would you like to contribute there?
And now your community life.
This could be your friends,
Your neighbourhood,
Your city.
Religious community.
Looking at your abilities and your ideas and the experiences that you've had.
What mark do you want to leave on the world that excites you and satisfies you?
OK,
Hopefully that's given you a few ideas.
And we're just going to look at your list.
Choose one.
We're going to just do a short meditation.
So,
Just closing your eyes if that feels comfortable to you.
And just imagining this thing that you've put on your list.
As if you're doing it or it's already done.
Just visualizing that.
Bringing the different senses into play.
Not just what you're seeing,
But perhaps what you're hearing.
And most importantly,
How does that feel within you?
How does that feel in your body?
Does it feel like joy?
Relief?
Satisfaction.
Contentment.
OK,
Just opening your eyes once more and looking at your list,
We're just going to choose one more to visualise.
Of course,
You can do this at any point during the day.
But just right now.
Choosing one,
Just one that jumps out at you.
Might be one that surprises you.
Gently bringing your eyes to a close.
Really visualizing that.
Making those details vivid.
How does that feel?
Contribution.
Be something small or big.
How does that feel?
So again,
This is just our way of.
.
.
Feeling how that might feel when we actually achieve it or start to put things in motion to achieve it.
And then the brain wants to go out and get that for you.
So just bringing your attention once more to your breath.
Noticing the cooler air coming in.
And the warmer air going out.
Just for a few breaths.
And then gently opening your eyes.
Well done.
