In this meditation, participants focus their attention to the right side of the body to observe sensations and any areas of tension. Attention will then shift to the left side, where participants will similarly notice and address sensations. The practice emphasizes balancing awareness between the right and left sides of the body, and concludes with a focus on the spine to further enhance overall relaxation and harmony.

Good evening and welcome to step two of getting a better night's sleep.

Tonight we're going to envision the right and the left side of the body.

There's always a dark and a light.

There's always an opposite to each thing.

And then today,

As we notice into the right and the left side of our body,

It's going to help us find peace and joy within everything and allow for us to get a better night's sleep.

So if that sounds like something you're into,

Let's start off by taking a nice slow inhale in and exhale and let it out.

Making sure you find a place that's nice and comfortable for you.

Whether you're lying or sitting,

Just make sure that you feel comfortable where you are.

We're going to take another nice inhale in and exhale out.

Allowing ourselves to soften and just notice into our body as we create the time and space to notice and feel into our bodies.

We do this by taking one more nice inhale in and exhale out.

We begin by starting to notice what our right eye feels like.

The right side of our nose,

The right side of our mouth,

The right side of our face,

Our ear,

And all around to the back of the right of the head.

And as we slowly notice into this area of the body,

We take a nice inhale in and we exhale out.

Allowing ourselves just to be curious and noticing into the right side of the body.

Next we bring our awareness to the left side of the body.

The right side of the body.

Next we bring our awareness to the right side of our neck,

Our right shoulder,

The upper part of the right of our chest,

And the upper part of the right of our back.

And as we feel into these areas,

We gently take a nice inhale in and we exhale out.

Allowing ourselves to bring our awareness to the right torso,

To the right lower back,

Into the right hip,

And all the way down the right arm.

As we begin to bring awareness into these areas,

We take a nice inhale in and we exhale out.

Allowing ourselves to bring our awareness now into the right hip,

Into the front of the right thigh,

The back of the right thigh,

Down past the right calf,

The front of the right knee,

All the way down to the top of the right foot.

As we all take a nice inhale in and exhale out.

Allowing ourselves just to notice the right side of the body.

From the top of your head,

All the way down to the bottom of the right foot.

As you take a nice inhale in and exhale out.

You bring your awareness now to the left eye,

The left side of the nose,

Cheek,

And chin,

The left side of the face and ear,

And back around to the left side of the ear.

All the way down to the top of the head.

And as you notice and feel into this area of the body,

You take a nice slow inhale in and exhale out.

Allowing yourself to feel into the left side of the neck,

Shoulder,

And arm.

As we take another nice inhale in and exhale out.

Bringing your awareness into the front of the left chest and the upper part of the left back.

As you take a nice inhale in and exhale out.

Bringing your awareness into the right torso,

The right lower part of the back.

Your hip and your thigh on the left side.

As you take one more nice inhale in and as you exhale out.

Bringing your awareness all the way down that left leg.

Past the shin to the top of the left foot.

As we take one more nice inhale in and exhale out.

Just noticing into the left side of the body.

As we take one more nice inhale in and exhale out.

Becoming aware of our whole body,

Our right and our left side.

We notice and we feel into it.

As we slowly end and move into a restful sleep.

We'll see you next time.
