And welcome to Freedom Within Meditations with Kieran Hedley.
So today we're going to cover a very simple and straightforward breathing technique.
Now this breathing technique is very practical,
Can be used at any point in time,
Whether it's a trigger that's come to the surface,
Or whether you're shifting a state so that you're priming yourself for whatever you're about to step into,
Whether it's your day,
A meeting,
A conversation.
So to start,
All I'm going to get you to do is close down the eyes,
And you're just going to follow your breath as you follow my instructions in doing so.
Just inhale and exhale in through the nose and out through the mouth.
So just to start,
Just inhaling through the nose very deeply into the lower belly,
And exhaling through the mouth as if you're sighing out.
And then deepening your inhale through the nose even deeper than before,
And exhaling a little further than before as well,
Emptying the lungs.
Now we're going to expand even further,
Inhaling through the nose,
This time coming all the way up to the top.
Keep going,
And once you reach the top,
Once you can no longer breathe in,
You slowly exhale through the mouth,
But exhale as if you're blowing through a straw.
And continue to exhale until you naturally come to a stop,
And do so slowly.
And now inhaling through the nose once again slowly and deeply,
All the way until you naturally reach a stop at the top.
Now second three more times through the nose.
Hold for five seconds,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Now exhale through the mouth slowly as if you're blowing through a straw.
All the way out,
All the way to empty until you naturally come to a stop.
Once you reach the bottom of your breath,
Blow out three more times.
Hold for five seconds,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Then slowly inhale through the nose,
As you slowly inhale deeply filling the lungs with oxygen,
All the way to the top.
And inhale three more times at the top through the nose.
Hold for five seconds,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
And slowly exhale through the mouth,
Blowing through a straw.
Once you reach the bottom,
Blowing out three more times.
Hold for five seconds,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
And slowly inhale.
Continue this process just for the next couple of minutes.
And as you do,
Really feel what it feels like to experience fullness and oxygen as all the cells are oxygenated,
Move to more of an alkaline state,
And you move away from an acidic and inflamed state.
Notice how there's more clarity.
Notice how there's less tension.
And notice what it feels like being completely empty.
The different sensations between being full of oxygen and empty of oxygen.
Notice the power and strength in recognizing the value of both.
Notice how experiencing physical emptiness also enables somewhat a certain extent of mental emptiness.
And when you come to your next exhale,
You can slowly return to normal breathing in and out through the nose.
And in your own time,
You can slowly open the eyes.
So once again,
You can utilize this breath at any time you wish.
Just don't do it when you're driving.
I made the mistake of trying.
