Meditation for Empathetic Joy In this meditation we will practice feeling joy at others good fortune.

When we are trying to manifest something in our lives,

One of the most powerful things we can do is to celebrate with others who already have it.

Empathetic joy is an antidote for envy,

Resentment,

Or the feeling that we are somehow less than others.

By cultivating empathetic joy we can shift our mindset from one of scarcity to one of abundance.

We train our minds to perceive that there is more than enough out there for everyone.

And that we can all create in our lives exactly what we desire.

Let's begin by making a comfortable home for ourselves in our own bodies.

Close your eyes.

And take a few deep breaths.

As you do,

Feel the air rise from the bottom of your abdomen,

Filling your stomach area,

And then expanding out into your chest.

As you release that breath,

Just gently follow its pathway through your body.

Do this three times.

If thoughts arise,

Just let them come in and then fade away.

Watch them like you were a casual observer.

And keep melting into the stillness of breath.

Now picture something that you want to attract into your life.

This could be a career shift,

A beautiful home,

A soulmate,

A new child.

Be very clear about this experience.

What would it look like to you?

Now bring to mind someone you know who has recently had the same experience in their lives.

Perhaps just last week you heard them tell the story of how they met their soulmate,

Or the promotion that came along,

Or the graduate degree they received.

See this event play out vividly in this person's life.

And sense their own happiness about it.

And now picture your own face lighting up with their good news.

You might even imagine yourself inhabiting this other person's being and feeling that joy reverberate through every one of their cells.

See if you can feel your two souls united in happiness.

Can you feel a sense of excitement at this beautiful experience that has come to them?

Keeping in mind that we are all connected in this world,

You might whisper in your mind to this person,

Your happiness is my happiness.

Your joy is my own.

We are having this experience together.

You are completely deserving of every good thing that has come to you.

May your happiness increase.

May your joy expand.

Just let your heart really dwell in their happiness.

And say to them whatever comes to mind,

Just stay centered in those positive emotions and let the words flow.

Now at first you might feel some resistance towards this practice.

Almost like you're forcing it,

And if you do it's okay.

Perhaps just set the intention that one day you'll feel happy for this person.

Be gentle with yourself and be patient.

Whatever you're feeling right now is just fine.

And now let that person's image fade and picture your future self experiencing this very thing.

How does that feel inside your body?

Can you actually feel that joy pulsing through your veins?

And recall that person that you brought to mind earlier.

And picture them now feeling happy for you.

You might imagine the two of you going out to dinner to celebrate or simply exchanging a warm smile or a hug.

How wonderful that this experience has come in to you.

And that there are people around to delight in your good fortune.

Now take a moment and go back to your current life.

And think of all the things that you love about it.

Your favorite people,

The pets you adore,

Your favorite things to do and places to visit.

Just relish all of those good things in your life right now.

Really bask in them.

And just feel happy for yourself.

It all starts here.

Exactly where we are in this moment.

While joyfully opening up to all of the other blessings on their way.

Empathetic joy is something that we can activate every day.

When you notice someone else's happiness today,

Try sending them some spontaneous joy.

You might smile at them and say in your mind,

Your happiness makes me happy.

I wish you more of it.

I wish us both more of it.

If we can really ride the waves of other people's happiness,

Those same good feelings will naturally flow our way.

Feeling good is the doorway to welcoming into your life everything that you desire.

Now let all of those images fade from your mind.

Go back to the breath.

Go back to your body and be in the stillness,

Gracefully present in the here and now.

Now open your eyes and be well.

Initially I didn’t think this would serve me for where I’m currently at but a safe space was created & I was able to meditate & manifest an ideal relationship with my daughter, while looking back on my past, on our current & what I hope the future will hold.

This meditation was a bit difficult for me to embrace when it came to thinking of another person, as I share a very difficult relationship with them in my life but I didn’t push myself too far and accepted that I’m happy that they’re happy but will need time to learn to be happier for them. Wonderful meditation. Thank you!

What a beautiful full circle meditation! When envisioning another’s joy, I bounced between someone with whom I easily share joy, and someone for whom a feel a sense of envy. It definitely helped shift out of the scarcity mindset and embrace empathy in a relationship that feels harder. The continuation was equally wonderful. The only downside was the final words getting cut off, resulting in an abrupt ending. I will definitely return to this one. Thank you 🙏🏻
