The light within.

Welcome to this meditation practice.

Today we're going to be coming into connect,

Experience the light within us.

That glow,

That knowledge and acceptance that lives simply in our being.

And so to start now,

We're just going to become very aware of our body.

Starting to focus our attention on the ribcage.

Noticing how it moves to accommodate our breath.

Noticing how those individual bones and ribs stack on each other and feel.

And rising our perception up now into our jaw.

Feeling how it is to hold this silence.

Feeling the outline,

Outer edges of your jaw.

And in a relaxed way,

Growing tall with our posture,

Slightly lengthening the spine.

And allowing the perception of this spine of each vertebra be felt now.

And just noticing if the mind wanders or entertains itself with thoughts and things at a distance.

And just come back here.

Come back to this very rooted,

Almost mundane feeling of the body.

Just letting yourself for a moment rest here.

Taking a slightly deeper inhalation through the nose and exhale,

Let it all through the mouth.

And peeling back a layer now.

We're going to come into this very watchful state.

So being aware of that within you that can see everything happening right now.

That deep level of I that can notice your body.

That can notice this moment that is present here.

And if you find yourself clinging or grasping onto anything,

Any thought,

Any sense of self beyond this internal presence,

Just notice it.

See if you can bring a breath of acceptance and let yourself go once again.

Focusing in on what it means to be.

And as you do this,

As you surrender to this,

You start to imagine,

Visualise and experience a light within you.

See if you can tap into that sense of illumination in your heart.

A sense of brightness,

A sense of oneness that resides within you and shines through all these shadows,

Shines through your skeleton,

Shines through the structures that hold you in place.

And so you can imagine it's almost this light is really pouring through,

Pouring out of you.

You may want to use your breath to kind of cultivate this sense of illuminated life force.

And opening your chest,

Relaxing your face and letting it radiate out into your environment.

Pouring out of your ribs,

Being supported and sustained by your spine.

Expressed out of you.

Taking a slightly deeper inhalation now in through the nose and out through the mouth.

Just connecting with your breath again.

Slowly making yourself aware of your body.

Perhaps moving your fingers slightly,

Feeling your skin.

Feeling the surface beneath you,

Temperature of the air and the environment.

Just integrating naturally this sense of light and gusto back into your body.

And I invite you to bring your hands to your chest.

Just give a moment of thanks to yourself for coming in to touch base with this inner light.

This place that you can tap into whenever you wish,

Whenever it's needed.
