Welcome to this meditation focused on Pranavayu,

The sub-dosha of vata,

Air,

And ether elements.

Pranavayu is connected with the heart region.

Vata as the energy of motion,

Of movement,

Made up of air and ether.

And the vayus as the subtle energetic winds of the body.

Taking time to bring awareness to the flow of energy within us.

Getting ourselves out of the head,

The thoughts,

The mind.

And taking us into the body.

Allow for any movements that will enable you to be a little more comfortable.

Finding a nice seated position,

Or perhaps lying down.

Wherever you find yourself,

Bring your shoulders up to your ears,

Roll them back,

And glide your shoulder blades down your back.

Creating space across the front body.

Take a deep breath in through your nose,

Filling your chest,

Filling your belly.

Hold this breath for a moment.

And exhale slowly through your mouth,

Allowing for any tension to release.

Repeat this two more times.

Inhaling deeply.

Exhaling slowly.

Holding.

Exhaling fully.

Letting this go,

Turn your attention to the breath.

Allowing it to return to its natural breathing pattern.

There is an invitation to explore a hand gesture,

A hand mudra,

That directly deepens a connection with Pranavayu.

So if you wish,

You can bring your awareness to your hands.

Maybe flipping the palms up.

Relaxing your wrists,

Your elbows.

Bring your ring and your small finger together.

Bend them over to make contact with your thumb,

Reaching your thumb to meet those fingers.

The middle and index fingers should be pointed straight,

But relaxed.

You can hold this position with both hands.

Pranavayu,

The energy of the breath,

The energy that moves upward and inward.

With each breath,

Can you feel yourself drawing in,

Taking in fresh new oxygen?

With your exhales,

Can you release any heaviness,

Stagnation,

Stale air?

Pranavayu,

Responsible for respiration,

What we are taking in.

And also inspiration.

What are you being moved by?

What allows for more prana,

More life force to flow through you?

Breathing with ease,

Creating spaciousness,

Clearing any obstructions.

Connecting with this heart space.

With feelings of inspiration.

With the awareness to this region around the heart.

Picture a gentle wave of energy flowing from your heart center.

Feeling the energy move up as you start to breathe in.

Allowing for your inhales to fuel this energy flowing in your heart center.

And allowing for your exhales to bring a softness and a lightness to this energy.

Allow for this energy to fill and flow through your entire being.

As you breathe out,

Imagine this energy radiating with the space around you.

Feel your connection to the energy that flows through you,

Deepening.

With your focus on your breath,

Notice the rise and fall of your chest and belly.

Feel the sensation of air entering and leaving.

Feeling a renewed sense of energy and clarity with each breath.

Bringing your awareness gently back to the physical space around you.

You can relax the hands.

Make some gentle movement to your fingers,

To your toes.

Taking your time to reconnect.

As you softly open your eyes.

Noticing how you feel.

Noticing where you are.

Noticing how you feel.

Carrying the sense of vitality and connection with you.

And remembering that Pranavayu is always within you,

Guiding and supporting.
