Hey,

I'm Chibs Okereke.

Welcome to The Daily Striver.

Today we're going to explore how quitting,

When done thoughtfully,

Can open the door to success and fulfillment.

For high achievers,

It can be hard to even think about quitting.

We're used to pushing through challenges,

Biting off more than we can chew,

And constantly striving for more.

But what if sometimes quitting is the smarter choice?

Now there's a great quote I love from Osayi Lesisi,

Quitting is not giving up,

It's choosing to focus your attention on something more important.

Now this quote is a great reminder that quitting isn't failure,

It's often a strategic decision that allows us to refocus on what truly matters.

All right,

Let's get into the meditation.

Today,

We're going to move our attention through the body,

Noticing sensations along the way.

And let's begin by taking a few deep breaths to center ourselves,

Breathing slowly in through the nose,

And slowly out through the nose or the mouth.

Breathing in through the nose,

And breathing out through the nose or the mouth.

One last deep breath in,

And a final slow breath out.

Now let's move our awareness down to the feet.

What sensations can you feel down there?

Maybe tingling,

Pulsing,

Warm feelings,

Maybe no sensation.

We're just noticing.

And now bringing our attention to the legs,

The lower legs,

The knees,

The upper legs.

Noticing if there's any sensation,

Maybe the touch of fabric from your clothes,

Maybe warmth,

Coolness,

Itching,

Tingling.

Moving our awareness into the stomach,

Feeling the belly rise on the inhale,

Falling on the exhale.

Relaxing now into the chest.

Bringing awareness to the back,

Perhaps dropping your shoulders and letting them soften.

Moving our awareness into the arms and the hands.

Now noticing any sensations in the face and the head.

Okay,

Now we're feeling a little more relaxed and focused.

I want you to think about an area of your life that's draining your energy.

Maybe a project,

A habit,

Perhaps a commitment that no longer serves your goals.

Now imagine what it would feel like to let that go.

Visualize yourself quitting this thing,

Not out of defeat but because you're choosing to focus on something more aligned with your goals.

Breathe into that freedom,

Allowing yourself to let go and create space for something more meaningful.

Now I used to have a limit where I'd work with a maximum of 10 clients at any one time.

Each of these sessions took up a lot of energy and I'd always go over time.

Now even though I loved the work on top of everything else that I was doing,

It was draining.

So I made the decision to quit working with so many clients at once and scaled back to just three.

Now this small change allowed me to then create a program that now helps thousands of people at any one time.

By quitting strategically I made room for greater impact.

Sometimes letting go of good is what makes space for great.

Today I invite you to review your current commitments.

Identify one thing that's draining you or holding you back.

Create a plan to either quit or scale it back and decide how you'll use that new space to focus on something more aligned with your goals.

Quitting isn't failure,

It's about redirecting your energy towards what truly matters.

If you haven't already done so,

Feel free to crack open the eyes and come back to the room.

Thanks for joining me today.

I'm Shibzo and I'll see you tomorrow for the Daily Striver.
