Hello and welcome.

My name is Cheryl Bailey from Grit and Grace Meditation and today I'm going to be sharing with you a meditation called The Purpose Driven Day.

This is an excellent meditation to do in the morning.

It helps you set your trajectory for the day and how you wish to show up.

This meditation will take approximately 15 minutes and so I invite you to go to a place where you know you won't be disrupted.

And when you're ready,

Find a comfortable seat and allow your eyes to gently close.

Begin to draw all your attention into this very moment right here,

Right now.

Feeling your entire body as a whole and begin to soften and release any tension that you may be holding onto in your entire body.

See if you can invite into the face any softness and release any tension you may be holding onto.

Soften through the corners of your eyes,

Through your cheeks and jawbone.

Relax the tongue in your mouth.

Pull your shoulders away from your ears and relax them down the spine.

Soften through the front side of your body,

Through your chest,

Your belly and through your hips and thighs.

Moving your attention to the back side of your body and softening through the upper back and middle and lower back.

Allow your body to be easeful.

Allow your arms to just hang by your side or resting them in your lap and letting each of your legs rest gently on the floor or against the chair that you're sitting on.

Knowing that at any point in time you can return your attention to the body and invite in this softness and ease.

Drift your attention to your breath.

Fully notice your breath as it moves in and out.

Noticing that with each inhale your belly expands and with each exhale your belly contracts.

What is your purpose today?

Maybe you see it in your mind's eye as a visualization.

Maybe you feel your purpose in your body.

Maybe you hear it as a word or a phrase.

Ask yourself the question,

What is your purpose today?

Not worrying about your future or times to come,

Just for today.

Maybe your purpose is to uplift,

To heal or to bring joy.

Maybe it's to serve others or to be present.

As your purpose for today becomes clearer and clearer,

Internally and silently say to yourself,

Today I live to and fill in your purpose.

For example,

Today I live to uplift.

Today I live to heal.

And so silently say to yourself,

Today I live and fill in the phrase for yourself and repeat this phrase as if you can absorb your purpose into your body,

Mind and in your heart.

Letting your purpose fully land in your body,

Taking and following that purpose with full intention for your day.

Continue to silently repeat,

Today I live to and fill in your purpose.

Bringing your awareness back to your purpose each time the mind drifts away.

Gently guide your attention back to your purpose.

Today I live to serve.

Today I live to bring joy.

Whatever your purpose is,

Continue to repeat it silently and internally to yourself.

As we begin to bring our practice to a close,

Allow any repetition that might be in the mind to slowly fade and pause here for a moment,

Having a deep sense of trust that your purpose is alive inside of you today.

And you can access it and bring it to life at any given moment.

Start to bring us some subtle movements back into the body.

You can begin by wiggling your fingers and your toes,

Coming back into the space around you.

Deepen your breath.

When you're ready,

You can open your eyes.

I thank you for joining me with this practice today.

I hope you enjoyed this meditation and have a beautiful rest of your day.
