Hello,

My name is Keri Suwa.

I'm a Reiki master here on Insight Timer.

And I wanted to speak to you today about receiving Reiki.

You may have noticed videos or audios from myself or other teachers here on the app sending distance Reiki to you.

Now how do we receive Reiki?

What do we need to know?

Or how do we prepare ourselves for a Reiki session?

I would say get really comfortable.

Maybe lay down or be in a seated position.

Whatever feels best to you.

Whatever you feel most called to.

Having your spine aligned helps energy move with more ease through your body.

Now,

In terms of your own intention,

If there's something specific you'd like healing to go towards,

Bring that to mind.

State it one time and then let it go.

Surrender it fully.

This is a process of receiving,

Not giving,

Not thinking,

Not creating.

You get to relax.

You get to receive and allow the practitioner to send this abundant,

Infinite energy from the universe towards you.

Having a pure intention to always support your highest good,

To align you with your highest potential.

That means you can let go of any fears or any walls you may have up.

And relax into the process.

The more you relax,

The more energy aligns and moves with ease.

So how can you relax more deeply in a Reiki session?

Making sure you're comfortable physically is important.

What about mentally though?

How can you relax your mind?

If your mind is racing,

Maybe focus on the body and its sensations.

You may actually feel the energy moving through you,

Which is quite a lovely feeling.

You can expect tingles,

Temperature changes,

Sometimes emotions arise.

Now,

If the mind is racing and the body isn't the place you want your attention to be on,

What about your breath?

Bring it there so you can be present with what is and allow the mind to relax and be more receptive.

It's all about receiving,

Surrendering,

And relaxing.

Have those intentions in mind,

And you will be so prepared for a Reiki session to receive the beautiful gift of life force energy that's here to help heal you,

Release things that aren't serving you,

And enjoy this beautiful energy that brings vitality and wholeness into your life.
