Welcome to this guided meditation which is designed to help you slow down and be grateful.

This guided meditation is a powerful wellbeing practice and can create phenomenal changes when you take time to practice it.

Many of us find that we lose focus on being present in the moment because life can feel busy and stressful at times.

We miss the magical moments and many people feel like they don't have time to stop and appreciate life's gifts.

Take a moment to close your eyes in order to tune out the outside world.

Breathing slowly and gently in through your nose,

Pausing for a moment at the top and a slow controlled exhale emptying your lungs completely.

Taking in another slow long deep breath in through your nose pausing for a moment at the top and a slow controlled exhale emptying your lungs completely.

And for the last time now,

Slow controlled long deep breath in through your nose,

This time,

This time taking in slightly more air than you did the time before.

Pausing for a moment at the top and a slow controlled exhale emptying your lungs completely.

Now return your breath to its normal and natural pace and for a moment just notice the normal rhythm of your breath as your chest slowly rises and falls,

Rises and falls,

Rises and falls.

By concentrating on your breath you're bringing yourself into the present moment and you can observe whether your mind is in another place or whether it's here right now.

If you have observed that it is in another place then just gently bring your awareness back to your breath.

Could you allow your mind to let go of your thoughts just for a moment and be silent with your breath?

And now notice where you are carrying any tension in your body.

Can you allow your tense muscles to release and let go with every out breath?

And take a moment to check in.

How do you feel in this moment?

Can you feel how grateful your body is in this moment to take time out to relax,

To restore and re-energise?

Now take a moment to think about something that has happened in your life that you really enjoyed and that you were really grateful for.

Just allow the memory to come up naturally and effortlessly from your subconscious mind.

May have been a holiday,

Promotion or something kind that somebody did for you at a time that you really needed help.

And take a moment to sense the feeling of gratitude within you.

Now think about something that you're really grateful for in this moment.

That if it were taken away from you,

You would feel the void without focusing on the void but rather focusing on the gratitude of the presence of that thing in your life right now.

And sense the feeling of gratitude in your body.

Now take a moment to think of someone that you really appreciate in your life.

And think about the reason why you appreciate them so much.

And sense the feeling of gratitude in your body.

And bringing your awareness back to the in and exhale of your breath.

The gentle and natural rise and fall of your chest.

Slowly starting to bring your awareness and your attention back into this space and time.

You can when you're ready.

Nice and slow.

Slowly bring yourself back and open your eyes.

And take a moment to think of someone that you really appreciate in your life.
