Find a comfortable seated position.

Allowing your spine to lengthen from your sitting bones all the way through the crown of your head.

And allow your shoulders to drop.

Your shoulder blades to slide down.

The back of your ribcage.

Close your eyes gently.

And let your attention drift inwards.

Take a few deep breaths in.

And sigh the breath out.

As you bring your attention to the present moment.

In the Vedic tradition the true self or Atman is considered to be pure consciousness.

It is the eternal essence of your being.

Unchanging and blissful.

Visualize your essence as a tiny spark of light at the center of your chest.

This tiny spark represents your inner self,

Your Atman.

Focus your attention on this spark,

This light.

Feeling its warmth and radiance.

Now repeat this mantra to yourself,

Either silently or aloud.

SO HAM SO HAM SO HAM This mantra means,

I am that.

Affirming your connection to the universal consciousness.

Continue to repeat this mantra,

Allowing it to resonate within you.

SO HAM SO HAM SO HAM I am connected to you.

Connected to the universal consciousness.

Feel a sense of peace and expansion as you connect with your true nature.

Know that you are always connected to this source of peace and wisdom.

Carry this awareness with you as you move through your day.

Then take a deep breath in,

Filling your lungs,

Your belly,

The sides of your chest.

And exhale the deep sigh.

Gently open your eyes.

Feeling grounded and centered in your true self.
