Welcome to this practice,
Holding space for others.
This is your very own meditation for clarity and presence and I'm so glad that you're here.
So let's get started just finding a comfortable position for you,
Whether you're sitting or lying down,
Just taking a moment to find a position that feels grounded,
A position that feels entirely comfortable for you and allow your body to feel supported by the surface beneath you.
And as you find yourself settling in,
Let's take a moment to take a deep breath in through your nose and a nice slow natural relaxed exhale through your mouth.
And as you take each breath in through your nose and each breath out through your mouth,
Just allowing the body to soften as the breath flows naturally and just bringing your awareness fully to your breath,
Noticing its rhythm,
Becoming aware of the inhale and becoming aware of the exhale.
Allowing yourself to feel the breath begin to guide you into the present moment,
Into the here,
Into the now.
You might find yourself gently shifting your focus away from the past,
Away from the future,
Carving out this moment in time just here,
Just now.
As you continue to breathe and as you continue to follow the breath,
Just allowing your mind to soften,
Allowing your mind to release any distractions,
Letting go of the to-do lists,
The responsibilities and anything that feels mentally cluttered.
With each exhale,
Can you imagine releasing the thoughts that no longer serve you,
Leaving space for clarity and presence as every single exhale releases those thoughts that no longer serve you.
Can you imagine your mind as a calm clear lake and any ripples of stress or worries or mental noise just gently dissolving into the absolute stillness.
And as you breathe,
Feeling the space in your mind expand,
Creating room for focus,
Creating room for presence.
Now picture yourself standing in front of your class.
Feel the energy of your last class,
Any tension,
Any emotional weight,
Any heaviness from those moments,
Any moments of overthinking or analyzing.
And can you feel the energy of those moments just gently lifting away from your body.
Imagine all of that energy lifting your body like soft mist,
Rising upward and dissipating into the air.
And with each exhale,
Feeling that weightlessness grow stronger as if you're shedding all that's left from that last class,
Clearing the space for the next one.
This taking a moment to acknowledge the effort that you've put into your teaching and thank yourself for the care that you gave to your students,
For the attention that you gave to your students.
But now letting that go so that you can allow yourself to move forward with an open heart and a clear mind.
And now bring your awareness to your heart space,
The energetic center of your being.
Become aware of its warmth and its rhythm.
And with each breath,
Can you allow this area to expand and soften,
Connecting you to the deepest part of yourself.
And this is where you anchor your teaching,
Where your presence radiates from.
And as you breathe into your heart,
Asking yourself,
How do I want to show up today?
How can I serve from a place of calm,
Clarity and true presence?
And let your heart guide you,
Guiding your energy in the direction of clarity and groundedness.
And now visualize your heart's energy reaching outward,
Filling the space around you,
Creating a sacred environment for your students.
Now imagine yourself standing in front of your class,
Radiating this heart- energy.
Feel the students in front of you.
There's no need to overthink or force anything at all,
Just simply allowing your presence to guide the room.
And notice how it feels to be in this space.
Let's create an affirmation together.
And just repeating silently to yourself after me,
I am fully present in this moment.
My heart guides me in my teaching.
I trust myself and my students.
I release what no longer serves me.
I am grounded,
Clear and open.
And allow these words to settle into your body,
Feeling the absolute truth.
And then take a deep breath,
And with this breath,
Carry this clarity,
This sense of presence with you as you move forward into your teaching.
And we slowly begin to bring awareness back to your body.
Feel the support beneath you again,
The earth holding you.
Notice the sensations in your body,
The energy around you and the room that you're in.
Begin to gently move your fingers and your toes,
Welcoming perhaps small stretches into your body.
And when you're ready,
Taking all of the time that you need,
Let the eyes begin to flutter open.
I'm carrying with you the clarity,
Heart-centered energy and presence that you've cultivated today.
Thank you so much for joining me in this practice,
And I hope that you hold space with clarity,
Confidence and open-hearted presence as you step into your teaching.
As teachers,
We hold so much energy for others,
And it's essential that we also take care for ourselves and our inner alignment.
So let this meditation serve as a touchstone that you can return to any time you need to clear the clutter,
When you need to reconnect your heart and allowing yourself to step into your classroom from a place of grounded clarity.
Wishing you the most wonderful day ahead.
