Hello everyone.
Thank you for joining me today for a Niyahasa chakra meditation.
Before we start,
Make sure you're sitting on something,
Whether it's a meditation cushion,
A pillow,
A blanket,
A towel,
A chair.
Make sure that you have something under your seat bones and you feel yourself deep-rooted from your sit bones up through your spine all the way towards the crown of the head.
Place the palm of the hands either on your knees or on your lap or if you want you can take a mudra.
Make sure your collarbones are open,
Your shoulder braids are slightly drawn together,
Your chin is lightly tucked in and the crown of the head is reaching towards the sky.
Gently bring your attention to the air coming in and out of your nostrils,
Allowing yourself to arrive into the space,
Allowing yourself to tune inwards,
Connecting with what's happening inside rather than outside.
Focusing on the breath for a few minutes can help to increase your attention and your focus before we work with the technique of nyasa meditation.
Nyasa meditation is a perfect technique to purify your chakras,
Your energy points located through your spine,
The senses of your previous karmas,
Sankaras,
The centers of your desires,
Personality traits.
Throughout your life some of them might be more open,
Some of them might be overly open and with this technique you can learn to keep them balanced.
You can also observe in case any of these senses are out of focus,
Out of balance.
We're starting with an ascending nyasa,
Starting from our root lock,
Our muladhara chakra,
All the way up to our saha rara chakra.
When we move up we use the mantra hamsa.
Hamsa means I am dead and it is the mantra of our shakti prana,
Our emotional energy.
On the inhale we pronounce ham,
On the exhale saha,
And we repeat the mantra in our mind,
Internally repeating the mantra with each inhalation and exhalation.
Inhale ham,
Exhale saha.
You can repeat the mantra multiple times per chakra,
Especially if you feel unfocused on a chakra.
You might want to spend more time.
I normally repeat it until I feel that I have purified a chakra and I can move on.
You can allow your intuition to guide you or if you want,
If you don't have much time,
You can repeat it one time per chakra and if you have more time you can build up towards three,
Five,
Ten times per chakra.
The more you repeat the harder it gets for your attention.
Let's start bringing our attention to our muladhara chakra.
Muladhara chakra is located in the perineum for men and at the top of the cervix for women.
Have your attention there and on the next inhale mentally repeat ham,
On the exhale saha.
Inhale ham,
Exhale saha.
Inhale ham,
Exhale saha.
Inhale ham,
Exhale saha.

Located at the base of your spine in your coccyx where your spine starts.

The next part of the meditation is a descending nyasa.
Starting from sahasrara chakra all the way down to muladhara chakra.
And we repeat the mantra,

That I am.
This is the mantra of shiva prana,
Thoughts of consciousness.

Take a moment to meditate on the rebound.
And if you want you can create a whole bit around your body,
Bringing your attention from your sea bones all the way up through your back,
Crawling all the way up towards your neck and your shoulders,
All the way up behind your skull,
To your forehead,
To your neck,
To your chest,
To your belly,
To your hips,
Front of the legs,
And then you continue up.
Sweeping a mass from bottom to top,
Top to bottom,
Making a whole bit around your body.
Or if you prefer you can stay still,
Observing the effects that the meditation has had.
If any vrittis,
Any emotions,
Memories or perhaps traumas emerge from the unconscious,
Both of them rising and passing away,
Trying to maintain your equanimity,
Trying not to react,
Allowing them to rise and pass away,
Becoming part of your chakra purification process.
And gently bring your hands,
The heart center,
Into prayer,
Slightly bringing your chin towards your chest,
Long spine.
Thank you for having allowed me to guide you through this meditation.
Have a wonderful rest of the day.
Namaste.
