Lying down comfortably on the bed or on the floor taking a few moments to find your comfortable position making any adjustments that you need so you feel comfortable and just allowing your eyes to close withdrawing from the outside world turning in to your inner space and as you do so feeling yourself start to relax letting go of the outside world drawing in and as you rest here calling back all parts of you calling back the parts of you from all the places you've been today from all the interactions that you've had calling it all back feeling more and more of you here now we're going to be moving our awareness through the body connecting into each part of the body and allowing that part to fully let go to fully relax we're going to start down with the feet bring your awareness down to the feet being aware of your big toes feeling into your big toes relax your big toes relaxing the second toe third toes fourth toes fifth toes all 10 toes relaxed relaxing the soles of your feet notice if you can feel any sensation at the soles of your feet relaxing the top of each foot how often do we connect to this part of the body feeling into the top of each foot and relaxing moving up into your ankles feeling into your ankles letting go relax your ankles relaxing both feet together both feet completely relaxed relaxed saying to yourself my feet are completely relaxed moving up into your calf muscles notice your calves and give them permission to relax saying to yourself i relax my calves it's okay now you can relax we are safe here here letting go feeling into your shin bones feeling into where they connect to the calves letting the whole lower legs relax moving up into the knees the knee joints relaxing the knees knees saying to yourself my knees are relaxed my knees are completely relaxed moving up into the thighs noticing if the muscles are tight if they feel like they're just switched on and engaged rather than relaxed and if that's the case saying to the thighs you are safe you are safe you can relax it is safe here we can relax giving the thighs permission to soften even just a little moving up into your hips releasing any tension or tightness in your hips letting your hips relax letting your pelvis relax the lower back relaxed mid back relaxed upper back relaxed shoulders relaxed letting go through the shoulders upper back relaxed shoulders relaxed letting go through the shoulders giving the shoulders permission to soften and release lower abdomen relaxed upper abdomen relaxed lower chest upper chest relaxed sides of the torso relaxed shoulder joints relaxed upper arms becoming present to the upper arms allowing the arms to become heavy and relaxed relaxing your elbows your forearms your wrists the palms of your hands feeling into the palms of your hands the back of your hands your thumbs first fingers second fingers third fingers fourth fingers fingers and thumbs together being aware of both arms relaxing both arms saying to yourself my arms are relaxed my arms are completely relaxed relaxing the back of the neck being aware of the back of the neck and the throat the back of the head supported relaxing the head and the crown of the head notice the ears letting your ears relax you're holding tension where the ears meet the head letting go relaxing relaxing your jaw your eyes letting any strain in the eyes dissolve away relaxing all the little muscles in your face feeling your face becoming soft and relaxing the space between your eyebrows relaxing your whole body saying to yourself my body is relaxed my body is completely relaxed feeling your body relaxing becoming heavy letting go letting go letting go letting go deeper within yourself feeling yourself drawing back from the surface back to a space deep in yourself dropping back dropping back into this space a space deep within yourself so i'm just repeating these statements within yourself within yourself i let go i relax i am safe it is safe to relax it is safe to let go to let go i am falling asleep i let go i am falling asleep i am relaxed i am falling asleep i am safe i am loved i am supported i am falling asleep i am i am
