Welcome to this meditation on connecting to your inner peace.
We have a place within us that is untouched by what goes on in the surface in our everyday lives,
Untouched by our thoughts and feelings.
It exists underneath it all,
Like a witness,
A watcher.
And one of the feelings or experiences that can arise from this place is the feeling of peace.
Taking a moment to become comfortable,
Allowing your eyes to close and your attention to turn inside.
Calling on that part of you that's always been there,
Your whole life,
That part of you that's untouched by outside circumstances,
Calling on that part of you.
Allowing your breath to move at its natural rhythm.
Feeling the gentle expansion as you breathe in and the release as you breathe out.
And now bringing your focus to the center of the chest,
To the heart chakra,
The energy center at the center of the chest.
And just observing your heart chakra like you're looking at it from the outside.
Notice the size.
Notice if it has a color or a texture.
Notice what it feels like.
Tuning into your heart space.
And now imagine that you can zoom in,
Zooming into the heart chakra so it becomes bigger and you become close to it.
Immersing yourself in the energy of your heart chakra.
Imagine now that you are inside your heart chakra.
Observing your surroundings.
Notice any colors,
Any feelings,
Any faces that arise.
Sometimes we hold people,
Our loved ones,
In our heart chakra.
Just observing your surroundings,
Allowing it all to be there.
And now in front of you,
A door appears,
A door within your heart.
And you recognize this as a door to your deeper self,
Your inner self.
You make your way towards the door,
Turning the handle and walking through the door.
You close the door behind you.
In front of you is a beautiful garden,
Your inner garden.
Noticing the colors,
The plants,
The trees,
Noticing the sky.
Notice if there are any birds or animals present.
Tuning into your own inner garden.
In front of you appears a path.
You start to make your way down the path,
Observing your surroundings as you walk.
The path is taking you to the center of the garden.
As you approach the center of the garden,
You see in front of you a beautiful pool of water.
The water is a brilliant blue color and it sparkles.
You notice hints of pearl in the water as well.
Simultaneously a brilliant blue and a pearl color.
As you get close to this pool of water,
You notice a sign.
On the sign there is a symbol.
Notice what this symbol is.
It could be anything,
Just the first thing that arises in your mind.
And then underneath the symbol is the word peace.
This is the pool of peace,
Your inner peace.
You feel called to move into the water,
Stepping into the shallows and then moving deeper and taking a seat so most of your body is immersed in the water.
The water is warm and nurturing and not really water at all.
It feels like peace.
Whatever peace feels like to you,
Perhaps you experience it as a softness,
As a warmth,
As a feeling of being nurtured.
Feeling yourself in this pool of water,
The pool of peace,
Your inner peace.
You allow the water to pour over your head and over your face.
Calling on that part of you that is pure peace.
Even if it doesn't feel like it's there,
Calling on that part of you.
And the mind will think of a thousand or more reasons why we shouldn't be at peace.
But this is the kind of peace that goes beyond all thought.
A peace simply just by being.
A peace that is there because it is there,
Always.
And as you rest in this pool of water,
Notice your mind noticing the thoughts.
The mind is just doing its job thinking.
Notice how the mind likes to take us into the future and into the past.
And notice how peace is always in the now moment.
No future,
No past,
Just now.
This is a moment of peace.
A peace that the mind may not understand as much as it wants to or wants to argue with it.
A peace beyond all thought.
Allow this peace to immerse your mind,
Immerse your thoughts.
Trusting in that part of you that is peace.
And being with this feeling for a few moments.
No future,
No past,
Just now.
Peace now.
And just being here.
And now it is time to step out of the pool.
You slowly stand up and make your way in the shallows,
Back into the garden on the ground.
Feeling your feet on the earth.
You start to walk down the path,
Observing your beautiful inner garden.
Feeling that this space is always there,
Even if it feels hard to reach at times.
You see the door in front of you.
You open the door and walk through,
Stepping back into your heart chakra.
Breathing into your heart space.
Bring that peace into your heart.
Zooming out,
Observing your heart and then feeling your connection to your whole body.
Being aware of your whole body.
And taking another nice,
Deep breath.
And just thanking yourself for dedicating this time for you.
And then when you feel ready,
You can open your eyes and come back to the room.
