Hi and welcome.
My name is Candy Foster.
I'm a mindfulness meditation instructor and a Reiki Master Teacher.
And today I want to bring you a meditation for self-reflection.
I love to do this at the end of every month as a way to step back and observe,
As well as in preparation for my goals going into the next month.
This can also be a great practice coming into a new moon as a way of letting go of the old and welcoming in the new.
Self-reflection is key in moving forward on our paths no matter what that path is.
By reflecting on what we've done or not done,
We can learn to choose accordingly in the future.
So let's get settled in and let's find a comfortable place where we can spend a little time quietly.
Let's find a nice straight spine and let's begin.
Please take a deep breath in and release.
Emptying your lungs fully.
Take another deep breath in,
Following the breath as it fills your lungs and your belly expands.
And release fully.
Take one more deep breath in and hold for a moment at the top of the breath and then slowly and softly release.
Come back to a softer,
Gentler,
More natural breath and allow each inhalation to bring in new,
Fresh energy and each exhalation to take away anything that does not serve you at this time.
Let each breath cycle relax your body and your mind a little more.
Following the breath.
We are now in the present moment as we follow the breath.
Let's start to take a trip back in time.
Go back to the beginning of the month and observe the goals that you had set for this month.
With true detachment as you just observed.
What were your goals for this month?
Just reflect on that for a moment.
Did you attain these goals or make progress towards them?
Observe each goal and their current state free from emotional attachment.
Were some goals not attained?
What might have stood in the way of this?
Is there something you might have done differently?
Allow yourself to sit with it for a bit with an accepting mindset.
A mindset of flowing with life and all of its peaks and valleys.
Sometimes we push too hard to attain our goals and others we don't push enough.
Being able to reflect on all those actions and allow yourself to flow with them can sometimes bring us to that place of success with more enjoyment and less stress.
Now reflect on how you may have responded in the moments where things didn't go quite as good,
Quite as well as planned.
Just reimagine yourself handling it differently,
Flowing with the situation with ease and grace.
Reminding yourself that when things don't work out as we planned,
That usually means there's something better ahead,
Something greater in store for you.
Now just surrender to this thought.
Feel the gratitude that something better is in store and maybe you just need to reassess the situation for other options and other opportunities.
Sometimes as we reflect we even find that the goal is no longer valid or no longer fits with your current path and that's fine too.
Again feel gratitude for any discoveries and where you are in this moment.
Flow with the gratitude a little bit,
Let it grow into more and more things you are grateful for.
As you reflect,
Enjoy noticing the blessings.
Now take a moment to reimagine the coming month.
Imagine everything happening in perfect order.
Perfect flow,
Timing,
And better than you ever imagined.
Allow yourself to dream and imagine it all coming together perfectly.
You Let's start to come back to our physical space.
Come back to this room and your placement in the room.
Take a deep breath in and release.
Start to make some small movements,
Coming back to your physical body.
Come back when you're ready.

This is such a practice that I love doing.
It really seems to get me grounded at the end of a month and to start a new month.
So I'm glad to share some of my practices with you.
