You Have Everything You Need To Make Your Dreams Come True
by Alessia
This episode was inspired by a journal prompt I came across and that made me question what moves us and, ultimately, what holds us back. In this episode, I share some ideas about how to move forward on any dream or goal that you're working towards, why just a few minutes a day can be a game changer, and more ways for you to truly love yourself deeply by showing the F up.

Hello and welcome to another episode of the Wild Free Will podcast.
This is an episode that I didn't expect to record.
Yeah,
I've been trying to get settled and the focus hasn't been here.
The focus has been a little bit more maybe internal,
Trying to like get things sorted on a personal level to kind of branch out again on an external level.
But I was journaling this morning and I just had this idea and and here I am and here I am sharing it with you.
The topic that I want to talk about today is just is this idea that like you you have absolutely everything that you need to make your dreams come true,
Which I think scares us.
I know it definitely scares me sometimes.
But but we do we have everything we need to make our dreams come true if we can make the choice to to believe that.
And it's basically I was I was journaling on this question,
How can you infuse more of what moves you into your life and the things that move me and like kind of what came up that inspired me in in general.
So not something that's specific to this moment,
But the things that inspire me in general are reading and journaling.
Those are probably the two things that get the energy moving the most.
I need to be careful what I read.
So when I say reading,
I mean actual books,
Not like reading social media posts or blogs or stuff like that.
Like there's nothing wrong with that.
But for me,
That's not what does it.
It's about the act of sitting down with a book because I find that act so simultaneously inspiring and relaxing.
So thinking about that idea of like,
How can you infuse more of what moves you?
So if journaling moves me,
If reading moves me,
You know,
Yoga,
Meditation,
Those things move me,
They they inspire me,
They they fill my cup.
If I want to infuse more of those into my life,
How can I go about doing that?
And,
And it always goes back to the same thing,
Which is by making a choice.
And like none of us want to hear that because we want to make it hard.
We want to believe that,
You know,
We have to do XYZ or it has to look a certain way or we have to have this,
This process and it needs to be difficult and it needs to be complicated and it doesn't.
Now we we like it because if it's complicated,
We can use it as an excuse for when we don't show up and when we don't do the thing,
Right,
Whatever that thing is for us.
But the reality is,
Is that the easiest way to infuse more of what moves you and to make progress and to take action and to move towards what you say you want and to make your dreams come true is literally by making the choice to do so.
It's so simple that doesn't make it easy,
Which is something that we talk about all the time on the podcast.
But basically the easiest way to go about doing this,
Whatever your dream is,
Whatever it is that you are working towards,
Be it health,
Be it business,
Be it relationships,
Be it whatever,
It is by making a choice and by dedicating whatever time you have to what you love,
Whatever time,
Even if it's only five minutes.
And we can all find five minutes.
We really,
Really can if we want it bad enough,
Right?
And there it goes back to that discussion of like choice.
Did I really decide that this is my dream?
Did I really decide that this is what I wanted?
But the reality is that five minutes per day over the span of a week is 35 minutes.
And in a month it's about two and a half hours.
And in a year it's about,
It's over 30 hours.
So that's a whole lot better than nothing,
Right?
That's a whole lot better than not showing up at all.
And a lot of the times,
Let's be totally honest,
It's not the doing that is difficult.
It is the getting there.
So whatever it is that you're working towards,
It's not actually doing the thing that's difficult.
It's getting to the point or making the first decision or taking the first step towards doing that thing.
So like,
Let me give you some examples.
If we are talking about business,
So let's take what I'm doing right now.
It's not hard for me to sit here with the microphone and the computer on and record the podcast.
It's hard to make the decision that I actually have something to say to move myself to the space where I can do this and then kind of go from there.
Once I'm here,
I'm flowing and I'm like in love with it and everything is good,
Right?
Let's say you're on a health journey.
It is not necessarily being at the gym or working out that is hard.
It is the getting there.
It is the changing,
It is the putting on the runners,
It's going out of the house,
It's getting in the car,
It's driving to the gym.
That's the hard part,
Right?
It's just the starting.
Because once you're there,
If you were to say to yourself,
I'm going to give myself five minutes,
You know,
I'm just going to do whatever it is that I'm doing for five minutes.
By the time those five minutes are up,
You're probably already closer to a flow state.
It's already feeling so much better and you're actually going to show up for longer,
Right?
So this is kind of like that permission slip.
I swear I've talked about this on the podcast before.
I don't remember what episode,
But I talk about this all the time with clients because this is a really,
Really powerful technique when we are facing a lot of resistance is just to say,
I'm just going to do it for five minutes.
Give yourself that out because there is going to be days where you really don't want to,
Or maybe you don't feel like you have the time or whatever,
Whatever the story is,
Whatever the situation is,
It's fine.
But you give yourself those five minutes,
You show up for the five minutes and it's done.
But 90% of the time you'll be there longer.
Even if it's two minutes longer,
Two minutes longer over the span of a year makes a huge difference,
Right?
And the reason that we don't do this more often is because we get caught up in doubts.
We get caught up in worry.
We get caught up in worthiness issues,
Not feeling like we're good enough.
You know,
We get caught up in wanting to do everything perfectly.
So if we can't do it a certain way or we can't do it for a certain amount of time or we can't do it at a certain level,
We just don't do it at all.
And the reality is that it's really better to just get it done in some way,
Regardless of the quality,
Regardless of how good or bad or whatever it is based on your own standards,
By the way,
Because like no one is there judging you while you're doing what you're doing,
Right?
It's a competition between you and you or it's a discussion between you and you.
So it's often better to just get shit done than to hum and hawk,
Right?
Like it doesn't need to be perfect.
It just needs to be done.
A mediocre workout is better than no workout,
Right?
A questionable podcast,
I suppose in this case,
Because that's the example that I gave is,
Is better than no podcast in some ways,
In some ways.
I wouldn't show up if I felt like it was mediocre,
But,
But yeah,
Like I wouldn't show up if I didn't actually have something to say.
I would just,
You know,
Move through my process on my own and blah,
Blah,
Blah.
But whatever we want is already at our disposal and we really need to believe that,
Right?
We never need more than what we have available to us now.
This is where we get so screwed up,
Right?
We get so tripped up because we think we do.
We think that we need more.
We,
We let the fear,
You know,
And the lack of worthiness and the perfectionism get in the way.
And then we begin to tell ourselves this story,
But like,
I need to know more.
I need to have more.
I need to do more.
I need to be more before we're ready.
And all of that is a lie.
Like,
I know I definitely did this.
I can give you an example.
It's still related to the podcast.
I was recording the podcast on my phone at the beginning and I was like,
But I really need a microphone.
No,
I mean just to do this well,
Like there's just no point in doing the podcast until I have a microphone and I have a microphone now and I love the microphone and I do think it makes the quality better.
And I do think it makes the enjoy the experience more enjoyable.
But like,
For example,
I'm traveling in Asia,
I'm traveling in another part of the world.
I'm even in another part of Italy.
Can't take the like three or five pound microphone with me because it's huge.
It does not pack well.
It takes up a massive amount of space.
It's got a tripod that doesn't fold.
Like it's awesome.
But so in those instances,
Am I going to not record a podcast or am I going to use my iPhone and just be done with it?
Right.
So we can let all these stories get in the way with business.
I have done this so many times by outsourcing power.
I've talked about this like numerous times on the podcast,
Constantly taking courses,
Constantly believing that somebody had a better path and went a better way than me,
Blah,
Blah,
Blah,
Blah,
Blah.
And just totally giving my power away.
If we were talking about the example with like health and going to the gym or exercising,
It's like,
Well,
I need new shoes.
Maybe you do be careful because fair enough,
Like you might actually need a good pair of shoes.
But you know,
Like,
Oh,
I might need like new running gear.
And like,
You really don't though.
Like maybe the shoes,
OK,
But like you don't need like fancy pants and like a special top.
Like you can go in your like grubbiest outfit to the gym.
You're just working out.
It's not like a fashion,
You know what I mean?
It's not a runway or a fashion show.
So we put all these like kind of.
What's the word?
We put all these not paradigms,
But we put all these like limitations on us,
Like if I don't have this or if I don't know this or if I don't do this,
Then I can't do that.
And none of that is true.
We have all of the tools and talent necessary to make things happen.
Or otherwise,
The ideas wouldn't be in our hearts,
OK?
We have the tools,
The skills,
The talent,
The capacity,
The capability,
Whatever,
Whatever word you want to use to make whatever we want to happen right now,
Because if we didn't,
We wouldn't have the idea.
It wouldn't even exist for you.
Think of all the things that you're not thinking about doing.
I know that sounds weird,
But take a second,
Like think of all of the many,
Many,
Many things that you are not thinking about working on right now,
So I can give a weird example,
I suppose.
My partner likes diving and like I would try diving,
But like there is no part of me that is like,
God,
I just want to dive.
But,
You know,
I don't have the swimsuit.
It's like I'm not making excuses for why I'm not doing that because I don't want to do it.
I don't have that calling in my heart the way that he does.
Right.
So like that's a huge part of it,
Too.
If you have the idea that you want to do something,
It's because you are already capable of doing it.
I think about the things within my business.
I think about like running in terms of exercise,
Maybe some like,
You know,
Corpo libero in Italian.
Oh,
How do you say that?
With just body weight,
I can't think of the word,
There's actually a word for it,
But it's not coming to me now.
You know,
I think about cooking because I want to like eat a little bit better and I want to improve how many recipes I can do.
And I think about like reading because I love it,
Because it's so much a part of who I am.
I think about these things that inspire me.
You know,
I think about meditation because it fires me up,
Like the things that you are called to,
The things that you already have in your head and in your heart are there because you're ready now,
Because they are meant for you,
Because they are calling to you and there is nothing lacking and there is nothing missing.
You have absolutely everything that you need already within you.
So I want you to take a second and really ask yourself,
What are you holding yourself back from?
So what are you holding yourself back from creating,
From changing,
From doing,
From starting?
Because there might be different things in different areas,
Right?
Where are you playing small?
Where are you dimming your light?
Where are you not being all that you know you're capable of being?
And I can guarantee you that there is an area in your life where you are doing this,
Where you are in some way holding yourself back,
Right?
And where are you not letting life move you?
So where are you not letting the desires in your heart and the ideas that you have and you know,
The things that you want to do or the things that you want to create,
Where are you not letting them move you and propel you forward,
Right?
And pull you forward because life is constantly moving.
The energy of the world is constantly moving.
We are constantly in motion,
Even on a cellular level,
Right?
And that's not to say that it's not important to take a rest.
Please do not twist my words or change anything here,
Right?
Rest is important.
But when we are rested,
When we are full,
When we are in that space and we can feel those things calling to us,
We can feel it because you can.
It's visceral.
And you need to tap into where you feel that in your body.
For me,
It's always in my heart,
Always in that area in my chest.
I can feel it pulling me forward.
That's why I'm sitting here writing this.
That's why I'm sitting here recording this podcast,
Because this is not typically when I work on the podcast,
But it just came and it had to be followed.
You know,
I was it was it was a calling that was pi forte di me.
I don't know why I'm speaking so much in Italian today.
That was,
You know,
Like stronger than I was.
It was it was literally just something that I needed to do.
Right.
So where are you not letting life move you?
And the questions are a little bit negative.
Like what are what's holding you back?
Where are you playing small?
Like the idea is a little bit of both.
Like,
Where are you not being all of who you are meant to be?
Because that's where we need to start.
We need to start with where we are.
We can't think about where we want to go if we don't know where the hell we are.
Right.
Like think of a simple map.
If you are in Paris and you want to go to the Louvre.
You can't get there unless you know where in Paris you are currently.
Yes.
And so that's a huge part of what this is.
Like,
Let's figure out where we are right now so you can get to where you're going.
Right.
So we can move you forward so we can propel you forward.
And I just want to shout out this whole post was inspired by my time in a Kundalini program.
And one of the questions that they asked in their in their prompt.
So it really got me thinking and it moved me and I allowed it to move me and I allowed it to move me all the way to my my office to record this episode.
So,
Yeah,
Huge shout out to that program.
And yeah,
Just allow yourself to be inspired.
Allow yourself to be moved.
I really hope this episode served you.
I really hope it was beneficial.
And just to recap,
It's this idea of we already have every single thing that we need in order to make our dreams come true.
OK.
We never need more than what we have available to us right now.
And we have the tools,
The talents,
The skills,
The capacity and the capability necessary to make things happen right now.
Or the ideas and the desires would not be in our hearts.
We would just simply wouldn't have them.
I hope that this episode served you.
If you have any questions,
Comments or concerns,
I'd love to hear from you.
You can leave a review.
You can send me a message.
You can reach out in any way that feels good.
And I hope you have a really good weekend.
And in the meantime,
In the meantime,
And I will see you on the next episode of Wild Free Well.
Ciao.
