As you breathe in,
Allow gratitude to fill your chest.
As you exhale,
Release any complaints.
As you breathe in,
Consider how your day started.
What are three things you are thankful for?
If your day didn't start as planned,
If things aren't going how you'd like,
What good can come of it?
We won't imagine how it could have been worse.
Instead,
We'll be thankful for what it was.
Accept what it was and acknowledge we are okay in spite of it.
Take a moment to say thank you for even that.
For the things not going as planned.
For the ideas not working out.
For the people not meeting your expectations.
For the goals not yet accomplished.
Know that no matter what it is or isn't,
You can find a way to be thankful for it.
Take a moment to give thanks for those things previously overlooked.
For the big,
For the small,
For the ordinary,
For the extraordinary,
For the calm,
For the chaos,
For the joy,
For the pain.
For the sunshine,
For the rain,
For the open door and the one shut.
For the friends and the enemies,
For the love and the hate,
For the cheers and the critique.
For the momentum and the slow pace,
For the strength and the weakness.
You can be thankful for it all.
As you leave this meditation,
Practice noticing things you can be thankful for throughout your day today.
