The breath that just filled your lungs,
Despite anything else going on right now,
Is a reminder to be grateful.
Your ability to hear my voice is another.
I'm sure if you continue thinking through the last 10 minutes before you turned on this meditation,
You can find several other small things to be grateful for.
Take a moment and allow those things to come to mind.
As you consider them,
Breathe.
Allow your eyes to close,
Your body to relax,
And breathe in through your nose,
Out of your mouth.
Now,
The last 10 minutes,
Consider the things you are grateful for.
With that in mind,
Allow yourself to ease back to the moment,
The here and now.
With gratitude in your heart,
Give thanks.
Offer gratitude to God,
Thanking him for the small things.
Because it's some of those small things that we are grateful for that allow those bigger things to even transpire.
Without the breath,
Would the big things even matter?
Would we be worried about our job,
Our kids,
Our spouse?
Would we be worried about tomorrow,
Next week,
Or next year?
Without the breath,
The small thing,
There'd be no need for the big things.
Today,
As you find yourself slipping out of gratitude,
Stop,
Breathe,
And give thanks.
