Have you ever noticed the tightness in your jaw or pain in your neck?
Some unease in your muscles?
This could be from stress and you likely may not realize it until you have a pain,
Some discomfort.
During this meditation we will scan the body to recognize the tension,
Consider it,
And release it.
Go ahead get comfortable in your seat and close your eyes.
Bring your focus to your breath and listen to my words.
With each body part we'll take a deep inhale in and as we release tell that body part to release the tension.
Starting with the top of our heads,
Take a deep breath in and release.
Moving down to your jaw,
Deep breath in and release.
Moving down to your neck,
Deep breath in and release.
Focus on one of your shoulders,
Deep breath in and release.
Now the other shoulder,
Deep breath in and release.
Moving down your back,
Take a deep breath in,
A little longer,
And release.
Moving down to your hip flexors,
Deep breath in and release.
Pick one of your thighs,
Deep breath in and release.
Now the other thigh,
Deep breath in and release.
Going down to your calf muscles,
Pick one side,
Deep breath in and release.
Now the other calf,
Deep breath in and release.
Now we're come down to our feet that carries throughout the day.
Take a deep breath in and release.
Now I challenge you to go back through starting with your feet all the way to the top of your head,
Stopping wherever you still feel tension,
Take a deep breath in and release.
Now go ahead and wiggle out your body parts and as you begin to end this meditation allow me to recite the scripture for you to consider.
Numbers 6 and 24 through 26.
May the Lord bless you and protect you.
May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you.
May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace.
