Wake up with an ounce of gratitude. Starting with your breath, breathe, and give thanks for the breath's ability to spread through your body and ease the tension, to still the mind, and calm the racing thoughts. In this breathing meditation take the opportunity to breathe, and give thanks.

Close your eyes.

Inhale deeply and slowly exhale.

Now pause to say thank you.

Inhale deeply and slowly exhale again.

Pause once more to say thank you.

Continue breathing and feel the breath as it spreads through your body to each of your limbs.

Each exhale removing the tension and angst.

Feel as your shoulders ease,

Your jaw loosens,

The wrinkles in your face relax.

And do you feel your heart beating calmly?

With each breath your body is settling into the moment.

Remember this breath and the ounce of gratitude you had for it.

Remember the inhale,

The pause,

And the exhale.

And don't forget the thanks.

Because if you can find an ounce of thanks in your breath,

You can build to a pound of gratitude in other areas of your life.

Pause for a moment and consider what you are thankful for.

And as you breathe say thanks for each of them.

If for whatever reason you have only an ounce of gratitude in this moment,

Don't worry.

Your breath is enough.
