Come into a comfortable seated position right at the edge of a chair or your couch or a bench.
Place your hands,
Palms face down,
Right in the belly,
The middle of your thighs.
Feel all four corners of both of your feet firmly planted on the symbolic earth below you.
Often your gaze or close your eyes entirely.
Don't try to manipulate,
Alter,
Control your breath in any sort of way.
Allow your breath to flow in and out of your lungs as it naturally does.
Just simply begin to bring more awareness to its rhythm now.
Feel how you are supported by the seat that currently holds your body.
Now feel how you have that same support in the form of your breath.
Feel how when you breathe in it's more than just oxygen that you're taking in.
When you breathe in,
You're breathing in the energetic nutrients that you require to sustain your life.
When you breathe out,
It's not just carbon dioxide that you're breathing out.
You're breathing out all the heavy energy.
All the things that you no longer need.
All the things that are not yours to carry.
When you breathe in,
Breathing in the nutrients like calm and clarity and strength and resilience and groundedness.
When you breathe out,
Breathing out stress,
Overwhelm,
Anxiety,
Tension.
May this be a little reminder for you as you head into your day.
Your breath is this magnificent support system always there for you to breathe in what you need and breathe out what you don't.
