Welcome to your meditation for navigating the gray spaces in our lives.
Those areas between certainties,
The spaces that are still evolving.
How do we stay grounded in times of deep uncertainty?
Whether it's personal uncertainty or uncertainty on a global scale.
It can be very challenging to move through our days when we're searching for the quote-unquote right answer to something.
And we feel like we just can't get there.
This is a practice for those times when you feel like you just don't have the answers.
This is a space that helps us to reorient towards trusting ourselves when things aren't clear.
And resisting the urge to force answers.
Find a comfortable place to sit for your reflection.
Close your eyes if you'd like.
And take a few deep breaths to arrive for your practice.
So many of us are searching for the right answers to so many questions that we ask ourselves in our lives.
What should I do next?
What feelings should I trust?
How do I move forward when I don't have all the information?
If you're like me and you feel a little anxiety bubble up when these questions are mentioned,
Take another deep breath to clear any stress that might be arising.
And return to the now.
As a black and white thinker myself,
I've been pulled into the idea time and time again.
That I need to have everything all figured out.
That I'm stuck until I have my ducks lined up in a row.
But the truth is,
My feet aren't glued to the floor.
There's a space in between the quote-unquote right and wrong decision or answer.
That is actually a very important part of our lives.
But one that we tend to try and push through quickly.
That is the gray space.
The grey space is the place where things are uncertain.
For many of us,
That's a scary place to be.
However,
This is also the space of possibility.
It's where we learn to trust ourselves,
Even when we don't have all the answers.
It's where we learn to trust that the answers will arrive if we just give ourselves a little space.
The gray space is that pause in between knowing and not knowing,
Where wisdom has the freedom to emerge.
Sometimes,
We just have to get out of our own way.
And create more space to be in the gray.
Let's contemplate for a moment.
Have you been trying to force yourself to come up with some kind of answer lately?
Have you felt maybe a little overwhelmed by the idea that you're supposed to have an answer to everything?
Have you ever felt like you need to have all the answers before you can move forward in your life?
If you answered yes to any of these,
You're definitely not alone.
Heck,
I don't even have the perfect answer to how we find the answers in life.
But I do know that when we create a little space for wisdom,
Intuition.
And ideas to arise.
That's when we have the opportunity to try things out.
And the great thing is.
Sometimes there isn't just one answer to a problem that we're facing.
Many times in life,
There's room for multiple possibilities.
So let's begin creating more space where creativity possibilities and clarity can arise on their own.
Not by forcing answers to come to us,
But by simply allowing ourselves to be open for them to arise when they're meant to.
Snuggle into your meditation seat just a little bit more.
Take a deep breath in.
And as you exhale,
Say to yourself,
I am here.
Continue to repeat this slowly and softly to yourself.
I am here.
I am simply here.
Breathe deeper into creating space around your thoughts.
Space around your body.
Space within your mind and heart for answers to arise when they naturally are meant to.
Now,
Take another deep breath in.
And as you exhale,
Say to yourself,
I don't have to have all the answers right now.
And continue to slowly repeat this to yourself.
I don't have to have all the answers right now.
Release the repetition.
And breathe into space.
Take another deep breath in.
And as you exhale,
Say to yourself.
It's okay to be in the gray space.
Where many possibilities exist.
It's okay to be in the gray space.
Where many possibilities exist.
Gently repeat this to yourself.
Release the repetition.
And breathe into space.
And one more time,
A deep breath all the way in.
And as you exhale.
I trust that I am safe in the unknown.
I trust that I am safe in the unknown.
Release the repetition.
And just breathe into this moment.
No need to find any answers or figure anything out.
Just let yourself breathe into a space you're creating for yourself.
Where your wisdom can shine through when it's ready.
Just breathe.
Take a deep breath in.
And a long exhale out.
Let's check in with ourselves.
How are you feeling right now?
There's no right or wrong answer.
You might even be feeling multiple things at once.
And that's okay too.
The more often we give ourselves space.
The easier it is for the magic of possibilities to arise.
But that doesn't mean that every time we create space,
There will be an answer.
It just means we are open.
To letting the answers arise when they're meant to.
You don't have to have everything figured out right now.
Trust that the timing is unfolding as it's meant to.
And even if there's a decision that needs to be made quickly.
Can you give yourself micro-moments of space?
So that you can feel into what your heart and inner wisdom might have to say.
If we actually had life all figured out.
We wouldn't have the beauty of exploring possibilities anymore.
We wouldn't have room to grow and transform.
Maybe.
Just maybe.
We can start viewing the spaces of uncertainty in a different light.
As we move back into our day,
I invite you to give a little room for the gray areas to breathe.
Give yourself grace to not have to have everything all figured out.
And be kind to yourself along the way.
Keep coming back to creating space.
Each and every day.
Not for the purpose of getting somewhere.
But to be right where you are.
Thank you for sharing this practice with me today.
And as always,
I look forward to our next session together.
