Join meditation teacher Brian Hyman and his 5-year-old daughter Lilia as they lead this simple breathing meditation for kids (and parents) of all ages. They help us find the present moment, relax the body, and become aware of the inhale and exhale. They also allow a generous space for meditators to be on their own to explore the breath and silence. Beautiful music plays in the background throughout the track. Please share with friends and family if you enjoy this meditation.

Hi everybody,

My name is Brian.

Hi,

My name is Lilia.

And today we will be doing a simple meditation on breathing.

Let's begin.

Find a comfortable position.

Find a comfortable position.

And close your eyes.

And close your eyes.

Begin to settle in.

And start to relax.

The shoulders.

The arms.

The legs.

The hands and feet.

Relax the jaw.

And all the muscles across the forehead.

And the toes.

And the tiny muscles around the eyes.

Let's take a deep inhale together.

And exhale,

Let it go.

Again,

Inhale.

And exhale,

Let it go.

One last time.

Deep inhale.

And exhale,

Let it go.

Now for the next few moments,

Start to focus on the breath.

As you inhale,

Think about the inhale.

Notice how the body fills up with breath.

How the belly fills up like a balloon.

And when we exhale,

The body relaxes.

We settle in a little more.

And we feel a little more calm.

Continue to breathe with awareness.

As you inhale,

Focus on the inhale.

And as you exhale,

Focus on the exhale.

And as you exhale,

Focus on the exhale.

And as you exhale,

Focus on the inhale.

Now slowly start to bring your awareness back to the present moment.

Notice how the mind feels.

Notice how the mind feels.

Notice how the body feels.

Notice how focusing on the breath quiets the mind.

Notice how focusing on the breath that you're relaxing.

When we meditate on the breath,

This is a very simple way to meditate.

Gently blink the eyes open.

Gently blink the eyes open.

Thank you for meditating with us today.

Have a beautiful day.

Bye-bye.
