Hello and welcome.
My name is Brenda Mailer.
I'm a yoga instructor and a meditation guide here on Insight Timer.
And today I wanted to connect with you a bit about meeting ourselves with compassion,
Whether we're stepping on the path for the first time or we've been on the path for a little while and maybe still come up against those moments of judgment,
Of guilt,
Of expectations.
And I wanted to just give you some space here to drop in and notice How is it that I am with myself?
What is that relationship with myself?
We live in a world that has a lot going on,
Whether it's our family,
Tending to kids,
Parents,
Ourselves.
Our jobs,
Our work,
Our vocations.
You know,
The communities that are around us,
The needs of others,
And how those things can impact us,
Let alone the conditioning that we've all grown up with and the expectations of what we think we need to be and who we need to be.
And so when we meet ourselves with compassion,
We're really inviting ourselves to ease the judgment and ease the expectations.
And that's not always an easy thing to do,
But when we can start to meet ourselves through the heart,
Through understanding,
And listen to ourselves,
We can begin to unravel maybe some of those expectations that don't serve us.
And start to lean into more of what does.
Meeting ourselves with compassion is truly meeting ourselves as we are,
Right here,
Right now.
Knowing that we have goals and things that we want to achieve,
Experiences that we want to manifest.
But meeting ourselves with compassion means that I can trust the journey there.
I can meet myself on the journey there.
And I can open myself up to what's alive and ready right now.
But also what needs space,
Time,
And presence.
So that I can truly find my way to where I want to go.
So easing the judgment,
Finding more grace,
And giving yourself the space to explore what's alive today and what's ready for me right now.
So enjoy the journey and I hope to share some of it with you.
Thank you for being here.
