This is a meditation to ground yourself,
Nourish yourself,
And connect with the energies of the earth.
Take a moment to find a comfortable seat,
Either in a chair or on the floor.
Sit with the spine upright and tall,
Lifting up towards the sky.
Close your eyes.
Take a moment to relax your face,
Your shoulders.
Let your elbows be soft,
Hands rested on your thighs.
Feel your spine holding your body up.
And your sit bones grounding into your seat.
Your legs resting on the floor or the feet resting on the floor.
Take a moment to just notice your breath.
Notice the flow of your breathing.
The inhale receiving,
The exhale releasing.
And scan your body once again,
Just noticing if there's any tension or tightness.
Let's see if you can soften,
Surrender,
Let go of some of that tightness in your body.
Together we'll take three deep inhales and as you exhale,
Let out a sigh and just allow your energy,
Your awareness to drop down into your body.
Taking an inhale.
Exhaling.
Again.
And one more time.
And then let your breath flow in its own pace.
Your awareness a little bit more connected to your body.
Feel your sit bones in your seat.
Notice how you're feeling.
Now feeling your sit bones connected to their cushion to the floor,
Your feet perhaps resting on the floor,
Connecting to that earth beneath you.
Feel that support.
The next time we take a few deep breaths,
You're going to feel like you're dropping your awareness further down through the body into the earth.
Like you're rooting a tree,
Dropping an anchor or just dropping your awareness down towards the core of the earth into the nurturing energies of the earth.
So when you're ready,
Take a deep inhale.
And exhale.
Drop your awareness down into the earth.
Again.
Rooting further into the earth.
Again.
Do a few more times if you need to.
To really feel yourself anchoring,
Rooting.
Connected to the earth beneath you.
And let your breath find its natural pace.
Its natural flow.
Notice how you're feeling.
Sensations in your body.
Emotions that may be present.
Thoughts in your mind.
Stay present to this as much as possible.
Connecting to the earth.
As you focus on your natural breath.
Imagine your roots down in the earth.
And like water drying up from a tree.
From the earth.
Imagine with each natural inhale.
You gently draw some of that earth energy into your body.
And each exhale just settles within you.
In your own time,
Your own breath awareness.
Drawing that nurturing earth energy up into your body.
You get a sense that that water,
That nurturing energy that comes up from the earth.
Is spreading through your body.
You feel the support,
The nurturing,
The nutrients that it brings with it.
And then just settling into that connection of you connected to the earth.
Receiving the support of the earth in your body,
In your experience,
In your mind.
Observe what sensation,
What awareness shows up for you in having this connection.
Knowing that you can tap into the earth energies at any time with this connection to support you in your life.
Sit in this energy for as long as you like.
And when you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
And step back into your world more supported.
