Welcome to this meditation.
In this meditation we're going to be focusing on how stress can be regulated so that you can open up to possibilities and more self-love.
First I'm going to tell you a little bit about how stress works in our bodies and then we're going to go into our meditation.
So to begin it's important to understand that stress is our natural response to feeling overwhelmed with concerns in our current circumstances.
While we can't avoid life and all the circumstances that can arise,
Our systems are frequently set to problem-solve any issues that come up.
We don't need to focus on what's going well but we do need to focus on what's not going well so that we can have a life that is feeling more secure and more at ease.
So our brain is frequently dismissive of the good things and the things that are going well and frequently focuses on issues so that we can create that sense of safety,
Ease,
Love,
And more.
When we feel like we're not performing well in life,
We can also feel like we are attracting difficult circumstances or that we are responsible for the circumstances that we are experiencing.
We'll blame ourselves even though we're out of control and begin to struggle with our sense of self-worth.
So when we go into these shame spirals in our system it can be difficult and it can be hard to snap out of.
So stress can be very correlated to these shame spirals.
It can feel heavy,
Your stress can feel frantic,
Confused,
And many other energetics.
But what you won't feel when you're stressed most often is you will not feel calm,
Present,
And open.
These energetic states of stress take away a lot of bandwidth and it makes it difficult for us to tap into mindsets of possibility and self-love.
So today I'm going to be guiding you to release that stress so that you can center into more possibility and self-compassion.
So to begin,
You'll need to find a place where you can lie down or sit comfortably for a meditation.
Once you've found your space,
Make sure you feel comfortable.
Get your blankets and pillows,
Whatever else you may need,
And when you're ready you can start to just close your eyes.
To begin,
Without changing anything,
You're just going to do a body scan.
This will allow you to understand how your body is holding energy today and possibly regularly.
Perhaps you walk around with a certain energetic throughout your day on a daily basis and don't even realize it.
So just noticing what has happened today and how that's living in your body,
How your body is experiencing the stress or the events of your day.
Now you'll bring up something that makes you feel stressed.
Perhaps that's already on your mind.
If not,
Bring something to mind that makes you feel stressed and then notice how your body responds.
Do you become shut down and heavy?
Numb?
Does your mind begin to spiral?
Do you feel frantic?
Do you feel spacey?
There's so many ways that your body may respond to stress,
So just notice how your body is responding today in this moment to stress.
Most likely this is a common pattern for you.
Your body goes into this response frequently when feeling stressed.
Now begin in your mind's eye to find a beautiful field full of flowers.
It's a warm sunny day,
Not too hot,
Just the right temperature for you.
And just imagine walking through that field on a nice path,
Seeing all the flowers around you,
Enjoying the smells,
The sunlight,
Maybe the breeze,
Maybe you hear birds chirping in the background.
This space is safe and made just for you.
It's protected by your spiritual support team and it's a space for you.
Then you begin to notice soft,
Gentle raindrops,
Just one by one,
Very slowly,
Dropping on you.
The sun is still shining,
You may even see a rainbow.
And as each drop hits you,
With it,
It takes a worry,
A sensation,
A stressor,
Anything that you want to release.
The rain drops on you and then falls to the ground and each of those worries,
The concerns,
The problems,
Begins to fall.
Not forever,
But for this experience,
You allow it to happen,
Releasing control of trying to figure it out,
To analyze,
The problem-solve,
To hyper focus on the problems.
Just for a little while,
You let yourself let go.
You give your body a little break as the rain drips from your body,
Knowing you can always reclaim your worry or stress in the future,
Your analysis,
But just for now,
You just are.
The rain begins to pick up just a little bit,
A nice warm summer rain,
It feels good.
And you start to dance,
Move through the field,
Letting the rain fall and with it,
Any worries,
Any tension,
Any heaviness in your body just falls away.
With each step,
You feel more and more at ease,
Light,
Joyful.
Your heart opens up and you can feel the sun on your face.
You let go of any guards that your body hold to protect you.
There's no need for protection here,
So you just open up,
Your heart opens,
Your body is free,
And you're bursting with a sense of self-love.
Because here,
You just are.
There's no race,
There's no expectations,
No hustle.
You can just be.
You dance a little bit more,
Really taking in how good it feels to just exist and let go,
To just be in your body.
And as the rain dissipates,
The sun dries the rain from your body.
And you can lay down or sit or continue dancing,
Whatever feels right for you.
Just noticing how good it feels to be carefree.
And you can see in front of you all the possibilities,
All the opportunities in front of you in life.
Perhaps you see them as symbols laid out in front of you or energies,
Words,
Representations,
Or you can just feel the possibilities and the opportunities.
Some of them may be clear and many of them may not be fully formed yet,
But you can see from this energetic in your body,
There's many options and there's a heart full of self-love.
You feel full,
You feel loved,
You feel good about yourself.
You don't have to try to feel good,
You just do.
And there's a sense of peace and even excitement as you look at the options while centered in your sense of self-love.
You take note of what you may want to take with you from what you've seen of the possibilities.
Perhaps there's a symbol or a token or a mantra or something else you might like to take with you.
Maybe it's something very concrete.
Whatever that is,
Take that and find a way to remember it as you return back to your everyday life.
Before leaving this space,
You give yourself love and self-gratitude for taking the time to be here,
To let go of worry and stress,
And just exist for a moment.
Allowing your body and your nervous system to reset and see options again.
Remembering that this place you can return to whenever you want.
It takes just five minutes.
You can start your day with this or something similar,
Allowing yourself to center in possibilities and self-love.
As this meditation comes to a completion,
You may do whatever else you might like to do before leaving this space.
Let yourself be with whatever might need to come,
And then when you do feel ready,
You can blink your eyes open and reorient to the space that you are in.
Take all the time you need.
