The first step in meditation is made when you close your eyes and take a long,

Notice the muscles in your forehead.
Tell them to let go,
Release,
Relax.
Become aware of the thin layer of muscle covering your head.
Feel your scalp let go and become soft,
Supple,
Relaxed.
Notice the muscles surrounding your ears and the nerves inside your ears.
Tell them to let go,
Release,
Relax.
Become aware of the muscles around your mouth.
Let them soften and let go.
Feel the weight of your jaw and let it gently open and rest.
Become aware of the weight of your eyelids.
Feel the muscles that surround your eyes.
Tell them to loosen,
Let go.
Relax the bundle of nerves behind your eyes.
Notice how they reach deep into the center of your brain.
Relax all those nerves now.
Remember a time when you were deeply relaxed,
Free from responsibility,
Free from the cares of the world.
Just free and easy.
Feel those memories of relaxation begin to flow through your body.
Warm,
Delicious waves of energy cascade down your neck and shoulders,
Flowing into your back and chest.
Take a deep breath and feel the relaxation that you just created cascade down your arms and hands.
Feel it wash down through your hips and thighs and now your legs and ankles and feet.
Feel these deep rivers of relaxation flowing through your entire body,

Your neck becomes long and fluid and your head begins to float.
Look inward to the core of your being and see a vast reservoir of smooth,
Silky water,
Peaceful,
Calm water surrounded by green mountains and lush forests.
This is a place that holds the beauty and vastness of your being.
The air is freshly scented with pine and you can hear the sound of birds high in the branches overhead.
A growing sense of ease and possibility fills your body.
Rays of golden sunlight soak into your skin and you sink deeper and deeper into yourself.
Your mind is opening and your heart unfolds like an exquisite flower.
Opening up to receive.
Everything you need,
Everything you want is right here in the sacred center of your being.
Give yourself permission to yearn for what you want.
Even if you don't know what you want,
You can yearn for the answer.
Yearning is like a prayer.
