When our lives seem to be a mess and our prayers don't seem to be answered, God might be calling you to surrender. This prayer is drawn from Fr. Dolindo Ruotolo, who suggests that we let go and open our hearts to God's will. This track can be repeated over several days to help us repeat the mantra, "O Jesus, I surrender myself to you, take care of everything!" Music: "Cosmic Harmony" by Chris Collins on Indie Music Box

When the world seems to be so heavy,

When our problems seem to be so hard to bear,

And our bitterness becomes so thick,

That it becomes so difficult to see what light might be in our life.

And those are the times when we are called to surrender.

And the surrender doesn't mean that we're weak.

It means that we are called to look at things a little bit differently.

That perhaps the way that we had wanted things might not be what's best for us.

It means that our ideas and our opinions and our attitudes about the way things should be might not be the best for everyone.

So what happens is that we open ourselves up to a new possibility.

And what that means is we have to drop our old ways and our old expectations.

So we turn to a novena from Father Dolendo Rotolo.

And if you can imagine Jesus saying to you,

Why do you confuse yourself by worrying?

Leave the care of your affairs to me and everything will be peaceful.

I say to you in truth that every act of true,

Blind,

Complete surrender to me produces the effect that you desire and resolves all difficult situations.

And you respond 10 times.

Oh Jesus,

I surrender myself to you.

Take care of everything.

Oh Jesus,

I surrender myself to you.

Take care of everything.

Oh Jesus,

I surrender myself to you.

Take care of everything.

Oh Jesus,

I surrender myself to you.

Take care of everything.

Oh Jesus,

I surrender myself to you.

Take care of everything.

Oh Jesus,

I surrender myself to you.

Take care of everything.

Oh Jesus,

I surrender myself to you.

Take care of everything.

O Jesus,

I surrender myself to You.

Take care of everything.

" O Jesus,

I surrender myself to You.

Take care of everything.

O Jesus,

I surrender myself to You.

Take care of everything So we spend a few moments just Maybe allowing a little bit of warmth in our heart And letting that warmth begin to melt some of that bitterness Some of the anxiety begin to yield to the warmth Yield to the warmth So after spending a few moments with This idea of letting go Letting go of surrendering See if you can Stay with this feeling of surrender as you go about your day or evening And maybe look at things with new possibilities And maybe open your eyes and look around you And be grateful for just this moment of softness This moment of peace Thank you
