Born in a musical family State West Bengal in India. He was initiated Sitar by his Father renowned flutist Sri Ashoke Chakraborty & later on by Ashim Mitra. He has been learning Sitar for the last 26 Years from renowned Sitarist Pandit ManiLal Nag. He has won the State Music award in 1995. He has presented Sitar at various conferences like St. Petersburg Sitar Festival in Russia in 2019, Sarba Bharatiya Sangeet-o-Sanskriti Parishad, Biswanath Bose Music Conference conference etc.

Lovely! I went to a concert TISRA last evening. My first time hearing the sarangi in person. Played by Sabir Khan with so much heart and passion. It carried me away. I am so happy to find you on insight timer! Now I can meditate in solitude to the haunting sounds of the sarangi! 💕🙏
