Welcome to this chakra alignment body meditation.

So slightly different to usual meditation practices with me.

In this one we're going to come to standing.

So bringing yourself up to a standing position with the feet slightly wider than hip width and closing the eyes.

Bringing all of your attention down into the feet.

Ground down through the feet.

Feeling the vertical axis of your body from the feet rising up through the crown of the head.

And trying to find balance here.

We don't want to be too straight and rigid as this will create tension that our energy and prana cannot freely flow through.

So finding that length,

Finding a sense of evenness in the spine and in the body.

And with the eyes closed still we're going to stretch the arms up overhead and as you elongate and stretch up imagine your seven chakras becoming aligned.

As you return the arms back to the side of the body maintaining the sense of height and length you have just created.

Again just settling into the feet.

Settling into the body.

Finding a comfortable position where you feel calm,

Centred and effortless.

Begin to breathe slowly and deeply.

Mentally allow the breath to reach out through the top of the head.

And as you exhale from the top of the head allowing it to come down the body and ground you into the earth.

So on the inhale the energy waves up rippling through the body through the crown of the head.

And exhale rippling down into the feet.

So the upward motion we call prana vayu in yoga and the downward motion is apana vayu in yoga.

We also have the relation of Shiva and Shakti.

So the Shakti energy,

The feminine energy is what moves us up and down in this meditation.

And the Shiva is at the crown of the head,

The stillness,

The pause in between the breath.

So as you inhale and we find that movement rising up our feminine energy pauses to meet with Shiva and then exhale slowly descends back down to the earth to ground us.

So just taking a few slow deep calm breaths connecting to this rhythm of energy,

The direction of up and down,

Connecting to the sky above the earth below,

Connecting to our feminine energy and our masculine energy.

The Shiva,

The Shakti.

And now we've established this connection we're going to fine tune and make our connection a little bit stronger.

So just releasing the practice of moving the awareness up and down with your breath and mentally taking your attention now to the crown of your head.

Feeling the vastness of the sky and the space above you.

Feeling the infinite vastness of the universe,

The stars,

The planet,

The sun,

The moon,

Allowing your awareness to expand outwards as far as it comfortably feels possible.

And then breathe into this vastness and imagine drawing in the intelligence of the universe in through the crown chakra.

And this may be presented as a light or a wave of energy or a glow of energy or a particular colour and just allow your intuition to guide you without overthinking.

Soaking in this vastness through the crown of the head.

And then feeling this energy coming down through the crown,

Pulling this energy down over your head,

Feeling it cascade over your face,

Over the third eye,

Across throat and the neck,

Over the shoulders,

Feeling this energy cascade down the arms,

Feeling the cosmic energy run down the chest,

The heart,

The solar plexus,

The navel centre,

Sacral,

Down into the root chakra,

Your pelvis,

And into your legs,

Down into the feet,

Down into the earth.

Feeling your whole body vibrating over this cosmic energy,

Flooding and filling all seven chakras.

Soaking in the richness,

Extending in a shower of cosmic light.

And then bringing your attention down into the feet,

Down into the earth below you.

Just imagine you have roots coming out of your feet anchoring you within the earth's energy.

And any of the cosmic energy that feels too strong or too much,

Just know and trust that the earth and its grounding qualities can neutralise and hold us here,

Can keep us steady and stable,

Closing this circuit of energy.

And so it becomes of real benefit,

Replenishing our chakras,

Bringing them into balance,

Bringing our whole being into balance.

In the last few moments,

Just tune into how it feels to be here.

How do you physically,

Emotionally,

Mentally feel?

How does your energy feel?

And then to close this meditation,

We're going to take a nice big deep inhale as we circle the arms up overhead,

Elongating through the spine again,

Finding length.

And then at the top we bring the palms together to close the circuit.

And we slowly draw the palms down the centre line to rest at the heart,

At Anjali Mudra.

And we say our thanks here,

Thanks to the earth energy,

The cosmos and to ourselves.

Thank you for practicing with me.

Namaste.
