When you've lost loved ones back to back, the pain can be unbearable and extremely isolating. Coping can be a simple practice such as a grief meditation. Grief Meditation can be of assistance to you if they, the listener, allow themselves to open up to their current emotional state and release the emotions with the cooperation of the Grief Meditation. Grief Meditation is also a peace-attracting and effective tool to be used at any time you're not feeling right, Notice what has been falling away, lost some friends, lost a pet, lost a loved one, and more. There are multiple practices that you can utilize during the grief meditation such as: Listening to a sound, focusing on the breath, chanting a mantra, or visualizing all the words you need to say to your lost beloved, family, acquaintance, or pet.

Welcome to a 7-minute guided meditation on grief.

We'll begin with three deep heart breaths,

Transition into the grief meditation,

And end with an affirmation where you can allow your emotions to flow and be reassured throughout your day or night.

Make sure you are not in any moving vehicles as you are doing this meditation.

Begin by sitting or lying down on your yoga mat,

Whichever is available to you.

Place one hand over your heart and the other on the lower belly.

Inhale through the nose from the back of the heart.

Exhale through the mouth with a loud sigh coming from the front of the heart.

Continue this for two more counts.

Inhale from the back of the heart to open heart space and exhale from the front of the heart to make space for any emotions or feelings that may come up ready for release.

Relax as you continue to inhale and exhale.

Begin to ponder upon these questions with grace and openness.

Who or what is falling away or has fallen away?

How do you feel about the losses?

If you had the chance to speak to the person or animal before losing them,

What would you say?

It is okay to not answer at all or until this meditation is over.

Grief isn't an easy topic for anyone.

Breathe in this space.

Allow yourself to process your emotions as you breathe in patience and mercy and exhale impatience and non-compassionate responses to your grief.

Imagine all of your old emotions and thoughts falling away into a beautiful green light.

Allow yourself to be immersed in this green light.

Immersed into this green light,

Imagine happiness and love surrounding you as you slowly bring your awareness to the body.

Pull your toes.

Twist the ankles.

Shake out the arms.

Smile because you're protected and gently open your eyes.

Repeat after me.

Am strong.

To stay in the aura of your loved ones as this is a safe space to do so.

Gently and gracefully bring your hands to touch in front of the heart center.

Stay strong.
