Good morning,
Welcome to another day,
Another opportunity to live well.
Beginning the morning with reverence,
Awareness and reflection can positively influence the entire day.
And since your life is simply one long string of todays,
Living today well means living your entire life well.
This practice is an opportunity to begin today with awareness,
Intention and with a few affirmations to help you live today well.
It's also an opportunity to cultivate a sense of connection with your own inner wisdom and whichever higher power you personally resonate with.
I will use the term the universe,
But feel free to substitute this word with a term of your choice such as nature,
God,
Spirit,
Source or the Tao for example.
Let's begin this sacred day by coming into presence,
Arriving here,
In this moment,
In the body,
The heart,
Connecting now with the breath,
Always our companion and guide to the present moment,
Inviting in fresh air,
New life,
New energy and new possibilities now with a deep inhale and as we release it,
Letting go of the remnants of sleep,
Of dreams,
Of the past,
Stale energy,
Thoughts,
Feelings and emotions that do not serve us,
Allowing the breath now to return to its natural rhythm,
Bringing you home to the body,
To this moment.
Sensing into the body now,
Feeling the pulse of life,
Of energy humming through the body,
Does it have a request of you?
Is there anything it needs that it would like you to know?
Letting go of the body now and checking in with the mind,
How is it today?
Still?
Busy?
Calm?
Distracted?
Or something else?
And knowing there is no right or wrong way for it to be,
Bringing friendly curiosity to the mind as it is simply observing it without judgement.
Letting go of the mind now and checking in with the heart,
Is there anything your heart wishes you to know right now?
And just being open to whatever arises for you,
That may be nothing at all.
And sensing into the atmosphere now,
Is it possible to feel the air,
The temperature and the energy of the space in which you are?
And expanding your awareness now out beyond your immediate environment and into the world,
The universe and quietly announcing your place within it,
With your simple presence.
And asking the universe,
What message do you have for me today?
How can I live today well?
How best can I serve?
And again just being open to whatever answer may or may not arise in your heart or mind.
Inviting you now to say the following affirmations out loud or quietly in your mind,
And seeing if it's possible to really feel into them with your body and heart.
Today is the only day I have to live.
I choose to live it well.
I am open to whatever experiences today brings.
Life is always showing me what I need to know.
The universe is love and abundance and always working for the highest good of all concern.
I trust and know that the universe is always looking out for me.
I trust and follow my own inner wisdom.
I honour my body,
Mind and soul with nourishing food,
Movement,
Rest.
I offer myself kindness today so that I may offer compassion to others.
My gift to the world is my authentic self.
I share it generously so others may feel able to do the same.
And as the practice draws to a close,
Perhaps bring in some gentle movement into the body before gently opening the eyes and beginning your day.
