Take a moment to settle in Closing your eyes or lowering your gaze Feeling your body as it connects with the ground beneath you Finding a posture in your body that feels both alert and comfortable Taking a moment to acknowledge that you are here That despite the rush of everyday life and the push and pull to do more you have chosen stillness Taking a nourishing breath in and a wholesome breath out Our minds are programmed to think As animals of the earth we are biologically wired to search for threats and to defend and protect ourselves.

Our animalistic nature has us on guard for potential problems keeping us tight and tense.

We analyze and assess the past and try to predict and control the future and as such our minds race Today we invite the opportunity to surrender to the now To let down our guard so that we can truly be present Reminding your mind and body that it can start to slow down That it is okay to be here now Our breath serves as our reminder that we can let go Breathing in with intention Breathing out with intention Experiencing your breath from the moment it enters your body When your mind begins to wander with stories from the past or thoughts of the future can you remind yourself that this is part of your human nature?

That right now you are safe to come back to this moment There is nowhere you need to be right now There is nothing you need to be doing Using the breath as your anchor Knowing that you are not failing if you are thinking Thinking is what humans do Taking this opportunity to come back to your breath And when you notice resistance or feelings of boredom,

Agitation,

Restlessness Can you invite curiosity?

Asking yourself what is the source of my resistance?

Without needing an answer,

Can you come back to your breath?

There is nowhere you need to be right now There is nothing you need to be doing Taking this moment to be with your breath To retrain your mind To retrain your mind You can slowly start to find aliveness in your body Inviting gentle movement And when you feel ready,

You can flutter your eyes open To embrace the remainder of your day
