Welcome to this moment.
Welcome to your body.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Welcome to your breath.
Let those shoulders relax.
Feel the places where the strong and good Earth supports you.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Welcome to a hit of hope.
And this one is not PG rated,
So if you do not like swearing,
I wish you well and suggest you listen to something else.
So I have just exclaimed in frustration,
Oh my god,
For the sixth time this morning,
And it's not even eight o'clock.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Maybe you are like me.
You read the news and you think,
Oh my god.
You think about the long term effects of all of this and think,
Oh my god.
I'm not going to give voice to any more fears because it's all too easy to spiral into darkness.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Here's the thing.
It can be easy to be happy and full of hope when life is good.
It can be easy to love when life is going along swimmingly.
It can be easy to feel grounded when life is ordinary.
And yet,
As any warrior will tell you,
And by warrior,
I mean anyone who has fought a battle,
And that could be in Iraq.
That could be in an oncology unit.
It could be in your own mind as you fight against all of those negative tapes that have been playing in your heads for years.
As any warrior will tell you,
What matters is what you do,
How you show up when it gets hard,
When the odds are all against you,
When just to rise and not give up might be the biggest battle of all.
You are a warrior right here,
Right now.
You have what it takes to stand,
To be fierce,
To fight for the good,
For yourself and for the world.
All kinds of battles are raging around us right now.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Imagine this is the scene in the movie when you've been knocked down,
When you've had the shit kicked out of you.
And you could stay down.
You really could.
But please,
Don't.
Get the fuck back up again with your nostrils flaring,
With your feet grounded.
Get the fuck back up again.
And let's face this.
You are fierce.
You are strong.
You are so very brave.
May you also be very kind.
And now let's turn the tide together.
Let's make sure the good wins,
Right now and always.
So,
Pandemic or not,
Let's get up and go kick some ass.
Namaste.
