Imagine being handed a little gift box. Wrapped with shiny silver paper. A teensy red bow rests on top. Maybe you rip open the paper and get to the black box inside as soon as possible. Maybe you carefully slit the tape and unwrap the present methodically, being careful not to rip or tear the beautiful paper. No matter how you do it, right now, in your hand is a box. Imagine lifting the lid... Welcome to a Hit of Hope.

Imagine being handed a little gift box wrapped with shiny paper.

A teensy red bow rests on top.

Maybe you rip open the paper to get to what's inside as soon as possible.

Or maybe you carefully slit the tape and unwrap the present methodically,

Being careful not to tear the beautiful paper.

No matter how you do it,

You've unwrapped your gift,

And right now,

In your hand is a box.

Imagine lifting the lid.

Welcome to a hit of hope.

Imagine lifting the lid,

And there's nothing inside the box.

Well,

Maybe some crinkled up paper,

But other than that,

Not a single thing.

Inhale.

Exhale.

Imagine being given nothing.

You might protest,

That's not a gift,

Or that's the stupidest gift ever.

Inhale.

Exhale.

Imagine being given nothing.

It is now yours.

You can claim it.

If you want to be quiet,

You can say nothing.

It's okay.

If you want to do nothing,

Do nothing.

It's okay.

There is nothing you have to do,

Nothing you have to be.

You do not have to turn into a circus poodle performing.

There is nothing you need to do in order to be worthy of love,

Grace,

And kindness.

Inhale.

Exhale.

Here is your beautiful box of nothing.

Claim it.

Use it wisely.

And you are so worth it.

Namaste.

I don't know how I missed opening this little gift until now, but what a wonderful present! I think, when I am wrapping Christmas gifts soon, maybe I'll just wrap myself a little box of nothing and put it with my other treasures, so that I remember ❤️

That is SO clever!!! I have always been a list maker. For 8 mths unfortuneatly nothing much got done so the list now is very long BUT with lock down and no visitors the decluttering and chores and what I 'SHOULD' do can be done when I feel like it as for at least 3 more weeks isolating there is no rush, no expectations from other, no pressure to be somewhere....if I feel like doing ' NOTHING ' I can......😊.....it is a 🎁.....Thank you Betsy. Stay well. Stay happy. Take care x

Great and liberating idea to have a box of nothing, I'll claim it and use the contents carefully according to these instructions. I'll prefer nothing to the hot air or watching circus poodle's performances.Thank you again :-)

The best gift is to give of yourself, freely, quietly and expecting nothing in return. Essentially the empty wee box in the eyes of the our rampant "HEY YOU!! YOUR LIFE WILL BE UTTER SHIT IF YOU DON'T BUY ALL THE THINGS!!" society. But the most valuable thing you can give. Thank you Betsy. Namaste 🙏🌟

I wondered where this was going! Thank you for this gift, Betsy, and for the gift of yourself.
