This cozy sleep story begins with a mysterious bedtime surprise and a gentle square breathing exercise that unlocks a magical underground waterpark. From there, your child glides down three calming waterslides — floating with their breath, relaxing each part of their body through color, and spiraling softly into dreamland. Along the way, they’ll release tension, feel completely safe, and let their body grow heavy and warm. By the end, they’re carried gently back to their own bed, calm from head to toes and ready for deep, peaceful sleep.

Hello my friend.

Tonight's story is a very special one.

It's about a surprise.

The kind that only appears when you're just about to fall asleep.

Your kind words mean so much and help other families find these sleep stories too.

Now let's begin our water slide adventure.

Before we begin,

Get cozy in your bed.

Pull the covers up to your chin.

Rest your head on your soft pillow.

Take one deep breath in and a long,

Slow breath out.

All right,

Are you ready?

Because the adventure begins right now.

Imagine this.

You're standing at your front door and when you open it,

There's a box on your doorstep,

But not a normal box.

No shipping label,

No tape,

Just a huge box so big you could sit inside of it.

You step closer and swirly handwriting are the words to open this box.

Breathe like a square.

Have you ever breathed like a square before?

Well,

Tonight you will.

Let's try it together.

A square has four corners.

So does this breath.

You'll breathe in for four.

One,

Two,

Three,

Four.

Hold for four.

One,

Two,

Three,

Four.

Breathe out for four.

One,

Two,

Three,

Four.

Hold for four.

One,

Two,

Three,

Four.

Hear a click.

The lid opens all the way and a soft light spills out like warm sunshine.

Inside the box there's a ladder.

When you climb it,

You climb the ladder going down,

Down,

Down.

But it doesn't feel scary.

It feels exciting,

Like something magical is waiting for you.

You keep climbing down and as you climb down,

A warm mist brushes your cheeks.

You hear rushing water,

A happy bubbling sound,

And an echo of laughter somewhere far below.

Your feet touch the ground and you cannot believe your eyes.

You're standing in a huge underground water park.

Not crowded,

Not loud,

Just magical.

Soft lights,

Warm water,

Everything glowing gently,

Like the whole place is smiling.

And right in front of you are three giant water slides,

Each with its own sign.

Pause here.

Hold your body very still.

Squeeze your fists,

Squeeze your arms,

Squeeze your legs,

And squeeze your toes.

And let it all go with a big sigh.

Which slide will you choose?

Oh,

You chose the floaty glide slide.

The floaty glide slide is a shimmering blue.

You climb up the steps and as you breathe in,

The slide waits.

And as you breathe out,

You drift forward.

Down you go,

Just as fast as you like.

It's like being carried gently in a soft,

Warm river.

Your arms float,

Your legs float,

Your whole body feels weightless,

Like a light moving on top of a stream.

At the bottom,

The water catches you and wraps around you like a warm blanket.

You think,

I am completely safe here.

Which slide will you choose next?

You chose the rainbow ripple slide.

You climb up at the top.

The slide hums like it's happy to see you.

As you slide down,

You pass red and your feet relax.

You pass orange and you feel calm.

You pass yellow and your belly softens.

You pass green and your chest feels warm.

You pass blue and your arms relax.

You pass purple and your face melts into calm.

You reach the bottom.

Your whole body feels like jelly,

Your favorite kind of jelly.

And you think,

I feel relaxed from my head to toes.

Which one will you choose next?

Oh,

You chose the dream dropper.

The very last slide is tall and spirals like a seashell.

This slide sends you straight into dreamland.

You climb up.

You sit at the very top.

You lean back and the slide gently tips forward.

It's not fast.

It's not wild.

But it's floaty and spiraling around and around and around.

As you slide,

Tiny glowing bubbles drift all around you.

Each bubble bursts softly with a little pop.

Whoosh,

Whoosh.

And when you drop down into the bottom,

You land in a pool of warm,

Floating pillows.

And gently lifts you right into your cozy bed again.

Your toes are heavy and falling asleep.

Your legs are warm and falling asleep.

Each of your ten fingers are soft and still and falling asleep.

Your chest rises and falls like the calmest wave.

It's falling asleep.

Your forehead softens.

Falling asleep.

Falling asleep.

Falling asleep.

Falling asleep.

Falling asleep.

Falling asleep.

Falling asleep.

Falling asleep.

Falling asleep.

Falling asleep.

Falling asleep.

Falling asleep.

Falling asleep.

Falling asleep.

Falling asleep.

Falling asleep.

Falling asleep.

Falling asleep.

Falling asleep.

Falling asleep.

Falling asleep.

Falling asleep.

Falling asleep.

Falling asleep.

Falling asleep.

Falling asleep.

Falling asleep.

Falling asleep.

Falling asleep.

Falling asleep.

Falling asleep.
