If you work with the I Ching, this mediation will help you connect with Hexagram 62, Preponderance of the Small.

Welcome to this meditation on attending to details.

The intention of this meditation is to work to overcome feelings of overwhelm and anxiety related to having too many things,

Too many details to attend to.

And perhaps going into inaction and procrastination amidst so many things,

So many considerations coming at you all at once.

This meditation has been inspired by the I Ching Hexagram 62 Attention to Detail and is an excellent way of tuning into this state of change,

This flow of change from the ancient I Ching philosophy.

As we begin this meditation,

Let's first settle in and make sure that we are ready and fully prepared for a great meditation experience.

First let's settle in the body,

Perhaps you're wearing tight clothing or you're not quite 100% comfortable,

Whether you're sitting or lying down.

So take this moment just to move your body into a comfortable position,

No distractions,

Just peaceful rest.

Let's take a lovely deep breath in through the nose and out through the mouth.

As your body sinks deeper into your chair,

Bed,

Floor,

Wherever you find yourself right now.

Take a scan from your toes,

As you're scanning through your toes and your ankles,

Feel all the muscles relax,

Your calves,

Your knees,

Your thighs and pelvic area,

Your abdomen,

Your chest,

Your lower back,

Your fingertips right up into your shoulders,

Across your back,

Up through your neck.

Anything that's tight,

Just breathe it out,

Up through your jaw,

Your mouth,

Face and eyes,

Across your scalp and over the back of your head.

Absolute peace,

Everything at full rest.

And now let's bring peace to your emotional body,

Your heart,

Any anxieties or stress that are sitting there,

You can always have them later,

So let's just put them down.

Lovely deep breath into the heart,

Into the nose and out through the mouth.

Feel the calm and peace wash over you as your body,

Your heart become more at peace.

And now to your mind,

The busy monkey mind that can keep us enslaved,

Let's put that down now for a moment.

Into the mind,

Let's breathe a beautiful deep breath in through the nose,

Out through the mouth.

Feel the absolute silence and stillness radiating through your mind.

Everything's just moved beyond where you are now,

Outside of what you need to pay attention to now.

Your body,

Your heart and your mind is perfectly still.

And now let us activate the beautiful shimmering silver protection around all our bodies,

Our whole self,

Wrapping us in a blanket of silver,

The colour of protection,

Perhaps you see it as armour,

As a bubble,

As a shimmering light.

Visualise that only what you need may come in and that your internal thoughts,

Your feelings,

Your body are cleared of negativity,

You are absolutely protected.

So let's begin.

Now visualise that on your back or over your shoulder is a bag.

And inside this bag is the emotional weight of all the things that are crowding in on you,

The overwhelm,

The anxiety,

The feeling that there are all these little things that need to get done.

That combined are perhaps making you feel stressed and anxious.

Remember your silver bubble,

Your silver protection around you,

Protecting you from the impact of this bag,

Yet helping you to feel its heaviness upon you.

As you look down at your feet,

You see that you are on a path.

The path leads forward and you see a strange glittering flecks of light along this path.

You start walking forward and you see the first little fleck of glowing light.

You bend down and there in amongst the stones on the path or in amongst the grass of the path,

You see a little gem nestled in the detail between the rocks or the leaves.

You bend down,

Pick it up in your hands,

So beautiful,

So small.

Look at its colour,

Look at its shape.

Can you put this gem into your backpack?

The most amazing thing happens,

You suddenly feel lighter,

Almost as if putting that gem into your backpack has taken something out.

You look further along and you see the next one.

You bend down,

You pick up the tiny gem,

Look at its colour and put it into your backpack or your bag.

The same thing happens,

What was heavy is now lighter,

Even lighter than before.

These gems represent all the little things that require your detailed attention,

The little gems that are leading you forward.

So for a few minutes,

Continue along your path,

Slowly each gem,

Picking it up,

Looking at it and putting it into your bag or your backpack.

And then go to the next one,

Spend some time paying attention to the little details,

The gems that are making your backpack,

Your load,

Lighter.

And then go slowly along your path,

Slowly each gem,

Picking it up,

Looking at it and putting it into your backpack or your backpack.

And then go slowly along your path,

Slowly each gem,

Picking it up,

Looking at it and putting it into your backpack or your backpack.

And then go slowly along your path,

Slowly each gem,

Picking it up,

Looking at it and putting it into your backpack or your backpack.

And then go slowly along your path,

Slowly each gem,

Picking it up,

Looking at it and putting it into your backpack or your backpack.

And then go slowly along your path,

Slowly each gem,

Picking it up,

Looking at it and putting it into your backpack or your backpack.

And then go slowly along your path,

Slowly each gem,

Picking it up,

Looking at it and putting it into your backpack or your backpack.

There is so much lightness that has come to you,

So you're lovingly and carefully picking up every single gem,

One at a time.

These gems bring you a gift to help release procrastination and perhaps feeling immobilized by so many things,

Yet knowing that the best way is one thing at a time,

One gem at a time.

Not the big grandiose adventure,

But just every single detail being cared for,

Being nurtured,

Being carried.

And as you put it in your backpack,

As you complete it,

The lightness comes and even more lightness comes.

Take this energy of focus and detail back into your life,

As you come back into the room,

Back into your body,

Back into present time.

Taking a lovely deep breath in through the nose and out through the mouth.

Wiggle your fingers and toes,

Slowly start moving and open your eyes.
