Greetings and welcome to the Why Struggle podcast.

I'm your host,

Barbara J.

Faison,

And my intention with this podcast is to offer ideas,

Insights,

And inspirations so you can live life better.

Greetings and welcome to 2025 Week 1,

Accountability.

This is an episode about accountability.

If you're new to the podcast,

Welcome,

And if you listen regularly,

Thank you.

Who are you accountable to?

What do you want to be held accountable for?

Decades ago,

I started holding myself accountable for what I wanted to be,

Do,

Or have in life.

Whenever I wanted to complete something,

I would have accountability partners that would check in with me so I would finish whatever it was I started.

Were there things I didn't finish?

Sure.

Were there things I did finish?

Yep.

These accountability partners helped me create my book,

My audio programs,

My meditations,

My card deck,

As well as kept me on track for reducing my sweets and walking,

And so much more.

And I am grateful for having accountability partners that I check in with and continue to check in with even today.

Over the last few weeks,

I've created two new audios.

One I shared in last week's podcast,

The Body Scan and Gratitude Practice,

And this one is Affirmations to Start Your Day.

I haven't tested it with my community yet.

It is truly hot off the presses.

It's only about three minutes.

I hope you enjoy it.

Greetings,

This is Barbara.

Let's affirm our morning with declarations for this day.

Are you ready?

This is a new day and I welcome it and all the opportunities it brings.

This day is filled with joy,

Laughter,

And peace.

I feel happy,

Healthy,

And whole in my body.

I release the old and embrace the new with ease.

Today,

I find opportunities to laugh and smile all day.

Ease and grace hold my hand as I walk through this day.

The right opportunities find me and I welcome them.

I feel gratitude for this day.

I trust myself more than ever.

My heart is open and I allow love to lead the way.

I am kind to myself and others all day.

Return to these affirmations whenever you need to.

Thanks for joining me.

Take good care and be well.

I'd love to know your thoughts about the Start Your Day affirmations.

Are there any affirmations that resonated with you?

What are your thoughts about people keeping you accountable?

Feel free to leave a comment,

Reflection,

Or observation when you're listening to this podcast.

On December 16th,

I started something called the 40-Day Plan.

It's a practice I've been doing now for over five years with the creator of the plan,

Regina London.

Regina is a dear friend I've known since the 90s.

The 40-Day Plan is about focus.

You get to decide what you want to focus on.

I remember reading somewhere that focus equals finish one course until successful.

This statement helps me stay on track and reminds me that multitasking is a myth.

This plan has been and is a great way to have accountability.

Usually,

Regina and I will connect with each other and share what we're interested in focusing on.

Sometimes we have other people involved with us.

This time,

We have two other ladies actively working with us,

And we have a WhatsApp text thread where we check in most days to confirm what we completed and that we did what we said we would.

What I've discovered is when I do the 40-Day Plan,

It feeds my creativity.

Over the last few weeks,

I've created two new audios.

Love love love this track too ! FOCUS Finish one course until successful. For me this means setting a goal and stocking with it until it’s finished . I keep procrastinating to create more cards . Right after I finish this review I will start on the task .

Accountability partners are great! I've been in an international accountability group for a little over 2 years and it has helped us all so much with staying on track with our teaching certifications and classes. I wouldn't trade it for the world and I love my friends in my group so so much! I even visited three of them when I went to the UK which was such an amazing experience to actually get to hug the people I had been knowing on Zoom for so long. Next up Spain and Ireland to hug two more friends from our group! Love and blessings to you Barbara
