It uses four phrases to cleanse and clear the energy around you so you can release any old feelings of negativity. The phrases are: I am sorry. Please forgive me. I love you. Thank you. This practice has been called magical. I believe you will find it to be useful.

Greetings,

I'm Barbara J.

Faison,

Your mindfulness and meditation ambassador,

And I'd like to share with you one of my favorite daily practices called Ho'oponopono.

Ho'oponopono is an ancient Hawaiian healing practice that means to make right,

Right.

It uses four phrases to cleanse and clear the energy around you so you can release any old feelings of negativity.

The phrases are,

I am sorry,

Please forgive me,

I love you,

Thank you.

Saying I am sorry and please forgive me allows you to cleanse any feelings of negativity and to release any suffering,

Guilt,

Or pain from holding on to the past.

By saying I love you and thank you,

You anchor yourself in the healing energy of love,

Self-love,

And acceptance.

I keep the four phrases in my mental playlist and use them during the day as a form of mind training.

I encourage you to learn the phrases and use them often.

Use them to forgive yourself,

Forgive others,

And to clear the energy around you.

In this practice we will use Ho'oponopono for self-forgiveness.

I'll share a scenario and then you will repeat after me by saying your name at the beginning of the four phrases.

Here is an example.

For when I have beat myself up because I made a mistake.

Barbara,

I am sorry,

Please forgive me,

I love you,

Thank you.

So settle in and let's begin our Ho'oponopono forgiveness practice.

Be sure to be comfortable before you start.

Ready?

Let's begin.

I invite you to place your hands in your heart space area as you begin to notice your breath as you consciously breathe in and out.

Continue breathing in and out to become present to this moment.

Find your own breathing rhythm that feels good to you right now.

Remember,

We only have this present moment.

So bring your body to this present moment.

Bring your mind to this present moment.

For all the times I have felt unworthy.

I am sorry.

Please forgive me.

I love you.

Thank you.

For all the times I did not complete what I started.

I am sorry.

Please forgive me.

I love you.

Thank you.

For the times when I did not listen to my guidance.

I am sorry.

Please forgive me.

I love you.

Thank you.

For whenever I felt that I wasn't attractive enough,

Strong enough,

Or wise enough.

I am sorry.

Please forgive me.

I love you.

Thank you.

For not feeling deserving of love,

Respect,

Or something else.

I am sorry.

Please forgive me.

I love you.

Thank you.

For saying yes when I really wanted to say no.

I am sorry.

Please forgive me.

I love you.

Thank you.

For not trusting myself.

I am sorry.

Please forgive me.

I love you.

Thank you.

Take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your mouth with a loud sigh.

Take a moment now to check in with your body and your feelings.

Be present to how you feel right now.

I'm going to become quiet for a few moments so you can check in with how you feel.

Do you feel any changes or shifts in how you feel right now?

When you're ready,

Say how you are feeling out loud.

Take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your mouth with a loud sigh.

Continue breathing in and breathing out.

Slowly and gently start to bring your awareness back to your physical space.

Hold your hands together and generate a little heat and warmth.

Place your hands in your heart space area and take a deep breath in through your nose.

Hold for a moment and release with a loud sigh.

Remember to return to the four phrases,

I am sorry,

Please forgive me,

I love you,

Thank you.

Do this during your day to help you stay clear and in the present moment.

You can say them silently as you're going through your day to stay present.

Thank you for your practice.

Be well.

As a Hawaiian and as a person with trauma from my childhood that occurred in Hawaii, it has been difficult to embrace parts of my culture. Many people have done meditations with this ancient mantra and practice, but yours brings me peace with your voice and your deliverance of it. Thank you.

Just what I needed. I have myself to forgive as well as people who hurt me. This helps me to release, which is one of my daily intentions.

Thank you, Barbara, for the 4 phrases. I am using them multiple times daily not only in self-talk, but also pushing myself to say sorry and ask for forgiveness with others.
