Hello and welcome to this guided meditation for grief and loss.

This gentle journey is designed to help you navigate through all the emotions that we may go through during grief.

The tender emotions,

The overwhelming emotions,

And then the ones that feel like they want to rip you to the core.

Losing a parent is one of life's most profound experiences and it is natural to be enveloped in a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions.

I am recording this after the loss of my own mother who had a 10-year battle with Alzheimer's disease and I also lost my father five years ago very suddenly with no notice and I often wonder which is harder and as sudden as my father's loss was at least it wasn't a long drawn-out suffering.

So this meditation is for all kinds of loss but for those that had to endure the pain right alongside their parent I'm just letting you know that I know and I understand.

So hopefully this meditation can provide you with some peace and some healing and also some forgiveness.

Forgiving yourself because you were doing the best you could with an impossible situation.

Okay so take a deep breath and just let it go.

Find a quiet comfortable place where you won't be disturbed.

You can sit or lie down just find a position that feels natural to you and when you're ready just gently close your eyes.

Take a deep breath in through your nose and as you exhale through your mouth release and allow your body to relax.

Giving yourself permission to surrender.

Surrender to this present moment right here right now and allow yourself to be relieved of this pain at least for now.

Just start to notice your breath.

Noticing the gentle rise and fall of your belly.

Begin to slowly lengthen your breathing,

Elongating your inhales and exhales.

As you inhale deeply allow your chest to rise filling up the lungs,

Filling up the belly and exhale slowly allowing your chest to fall,

Letting the lungs deflate,

Letting the belly soften.

With each breath imagine that you're drawing in peace and love and ease and grace and love and ease and grace and calm.

Releasing any tension.

Continuing to inhale peace and love and ease and grace and release regret and pain and sorrow.

Just let it go.

Feel the weight of your body supported by the surface beneath you and imagine now roots extending out the soles of your feet grounding you deep into mother earth stabilizing you.

Allow the beautiful energy of mother earth to envelop you,

Cocoon you,

Nurture you in her love.

Feel her stability.

Feel her strength.

Allow her to nurture you as your own mother may have.

As you continue to breathe just notice any thoughts that may arise.

Maybe you're being flooded with memories or feelings or worries or maybe you're continuing to berate yourself for not doing enough.

Know that you did the best that you could and they know.

Your parents know,

Your mother knows,

Your father knows and they love you and they're with you.

Just acknowledge any thoughts that may arise.

Your parents know,

Your mother knows,

Your father knows and they love you and they're with you.

Just acknowledge any thoughts coming up without judgment.

Just imagine these thoughts floating away into the ethers taken away by the clouds or flowing away on a leaf or flowing away downstream in a river.

Acknowledge your feelings and become at peace with them knowing they're part of your journey.

Now bring into your mind's eye all the love and the beautiful memories you shared with your parent and allow these memories to warm your heart.

Knowing that while they may not be physically present,

Their love does remain and is a constant source of comfort and guidance.

Telling yourself that love is always with me.

Nothing can separate that love.

Allow this fog of overthinking to be cleared away.

Imagine a breeze coming in as it lightens the burden of these constant thoughts.

Allow yourself to embrace this present moment right here with all its imperfections and all its glory and all its grace.

Allow yourself to imagine your parent holding your hand right now.

Maybe place your hands on your heart with their hands over yours.

Knowing that you're always connected.

They brought you into this world into this physical existence and you are always always intertwined.

And that love does not die when they do.

And that this is a natural evolution and the natural progression of life.

Acknowledging that yes,

This hurts and give yourself the permission to and give yourself the permission to truly feel the pain.

Where do you feel it in your body?

Do you feel it in your heart,

Your solar plexus,

Your lower back?

Wherever it is,

Just acknowledge it and thank it and release it.

And I release you with love.

I release you with grace.

I release you with ease and peace.

And I am grateful for the time we had on this earthly plane.

Thank you,

Mother.

Thank you,

Father,

For nurturing me and caring for me the best that you knew how.

Thank you for instilling morality,

Integrity,

Honesty into me.

If that is the case,

Thank your parents,

Living or beyond,

For the gifts that they gave you,

The gift of life,

The gift of breath,

The gift of heart beating within you.

Thank you for being a part of this soul family.

This soul family.

Give yourself permission to first allow yourself to feel the grief.

Allow it to process through your body.

Allow it to move through your cells.

And as you're grounded to Mother Earth,

Through this grounding cord,

Send the grief down through your body,

Out the soles of your feet,

Down your grounding cord,

Sending it down to Mother Earth.

Let her hold it.

Let her take it from you.

It's okay.

You are loved and supported by Mother Earth,

By your parents,

By your soul,

Your higher self,

Your angels and guides in your heart.

As you breathe in,

Imagine breathing up all the way deep from within Mother Earth,

Up your body,

And exhale it out the crown of your head with a sigh.

And imagine this cord being connected way up high into the angelic realms,

All the way through your body,

Down to the core of Mother Earth.

As above and so below,

You are grounded.

You are uplifted.

You are connected.

You are held.

You are seen.

You are supported.

You are loved.

You are infinitely loved.

And it's okay.

Allow yourself to feel the love.

The love of your parents.

Allow yourself to feel love for yourself.

Allow yourself to forgive.

Forgive whoever you need to give.

Forgive yourself.

Forgive them.

Forgive the circumstances.

Every experience we go through is for the evolution of our consciousness,

The evolution of our soul's journey.

And ask yourself,

What did I learn from this experience?

Maybe you learned that your heart has this huge capacity to love.

And if it hurts like this,

If it hurts this much,

It's because you loved equally that much.

Allow this love that flows through your aching heart to be the same love that heals it.

Allow this love in your heart to expand through your body,

Moving it into all of your cells,

The connective tissues,

The ligaments,

The tendons,

The bones.

Allow it to flow through all of your organs,

All of your glands,

All of your body systems.

Allow it to move into the subcutaneous tissues of your skin and move outward into the dermis.

Sending it out into the world.

And as you send this love and light out into the world,

You can heal.

Give yourself some grace.

It's okay.

Everything does not need to dissolve right now.

It's okay.

It's okay.

It's okay.

It's okay.

It's okay.

It's okay.

It's okay.

It's okay.

It's okay.

Everything does not need to dissolve right now,

But maybe right now you feel some peace.

You feel some relief that knowing you're not alone in this journey.

Knowing that you can come back to this moment,

Come back to your breath,

Come back to the love of yourself,

Reminding yourself that everything is perfect exactly as it is right now.

And this grief you're experiencing will transmute and transform,

And eventually it doesn't have to be today.

You'll come to a place of peace.

But in the meantime,

Just come to a moment of tranquility.

Be grateful for the love,

For the memories that you shared.

Just imagine your parent,

Your lost loved one,

Giving you a spiritual hug right now.

Feel their love.

Just allow yourself to bask in the beauty of this tranquil moment.

When you're ready,

Just bring your awareness back to your breath,

Back to your body.

Inhaling peace and love and ease and grace.

Inhaling gratitude and forgiveness and solace and peace and tranquility.

When you're ready,

Just open your eyes,

Smile,

Place your hands on your heart,

And remind yourself that I am grateful for the love.

I am grateful for the memories.

I'm grateful I'm grateful for all of the experiences,

For they have made me who I am right here,

Right now.

The light in me humbly bows to the light in you.

Namaste,

My friends.

Namaste.

Namaste.

Thank you. I feel a little better. my pain is very deep. It’s going to be a long journey, but this meditation has been, and will be a part of it. I’m sorry you lost your mom too Update: This really helped me tonight Thank you Update: It’s been four months now since I lost my mom. Along with other healthy practices and experiences, this meditation has been, and continues to be, essential in my healing process. It has helped me so much. Especially recording this and giving your incredible wisdom and, words of thoughtfulness, compassion, and grace, only two months after losing your own mother was incredibly courageous. The light in me humbly bows to the light in you.

I can’t even begin to tell you how grateful I am for your meditation. I lost my mother yesterday. Also she had Alzheimer’s. This grief is so deep, like none I’ve ever known. And my relationship with my mother was a very difficult one. I am grateful that I chose to come and spend the last month of her life with her. And now I am just shattered. The only thing I can do right now is let the sobs move through me and have this recording on repeat. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. So much gratitude.

Wow. This was so helpful and so comforting. I just lost my precious momma two weeks ago. The pain is real. The love is real. I’ll be listening to this again and again. Thank you. Update: I’ve listened multiple times. I love this. Thank you again for creating it. Another update: I’m thankful for the times listening to this a few weeks ago. I just returned to it and hearing your voice comforted me. Also, somehow knowing you get the pain, brings me comfort. I’m not walking this path alone.
