Thank you for joining me in this pre-holiday discussion today.
I would like to talk about the frequency of gratitude in the holiday season.
It can be difficult to be grateful if you are feeling like you are treading water,
If you are overwhelmed at all the thoughts of responsibilities,
Obligations,
And challenges that you may be facing.
I am recording this just before Thanksgiving,
The first one without my mom and my fiancé,
Both of which I lost in the last three months.
My life is different now.
I don't have a big extended family,
And that's okay.
It's just me and my son,
And I am grateful for him.
I am grateful that we get to choose what we want to do together.
If the upcoming holidays are difficult for you,
As they usually are for me,
I want you to focus on what you do have.
You have more than you realize.
You have your breath and your heartbeat,
And if you are listening to this,
You have a device to listen to it on and the connection to the internet or cell towers to make it available to you.
You have sunlight to allow you to see,
Moonlight to watch over you as you sleep,
Running water,
Modern comforts of life like roofs,
Windows,
Doors,
Electricity,
Planes,
Trains,
And automobiles.
I know,
It sounds hokey.
I do realize I am simplifying things,
And the holidays can be hard.
I am not discounting that.
But as someone who has had to endure difficult and disappointing holidays,
I'm here to tell you that,
One,
You're not alone,
And two,
It's really just a day in the calendar.
It doesn't have to be a time to reevaluate your entire life and judge yourself for all the choices you've made or the injustices you have faced.
By shifting your focus and your awareness and your perspective,
Know that gratitude is gratitude.
No matter how big or how small,
That vibration is the same.
The frequency of being grateful for your breath is equal to the frequency of being grateful for a shiny new car.
If you can cultivate and evoke the feeling of gratitude for anything,
That frequency is initiated.
When you focus on it,
It expands.
You can evoke feelings and frequencies of anything,
Whether it be gratitude and love or shame and guilt.
The more you focus on whatever it is you're thinking about,
That vibration floods your body.
The more the frequency of that vibration overtakes you,
Positively or negatively,
You can choose to get out of a feeling of fear by focusing on its opposite,
Which is calmness or confidence.
The opposite of gratitude is resentment,
And I know it's a big one.
It's difficult to let go of resentment towards people,
Places,
And things who have hurt you or let you down.
It's important to take a look at what you learned from those experiences and be grateful for it.
Every experience we have is for us to learn and grow and evolve and expand.
Sometimes it's hard to dig down deep and find that morsel of light,
And if you can't find it right now,
That's okay.
You can focus on the things that you do have,
Like breath and body and heartbeat and will.

The Power of Gratitude.
Thank you so much for listening.
I wish you peaceful,
Grateful holidays,
And I am grateful for you.
Namaste,
My friends.
Namaste.
