Welcome to this guided meditation on releasing and feeling anger.
All too often we see anger as a negative emotion,
As something we shouldn't feel,
When in fact anger is generally something that comes up when there's a part of us that needs to be loved.
I want to share with you today a practice that I use when I feel anger rising inside of me.
Hopefully it will help you to deal with your angry feelings.
Just taking a comfortable position,
Be it seated or laying down,
Making any last adjustments to your body.
So you can fully immerse yourself in this practice.
Starting to deepen the breath,
Breathing in through your nose,
And out through your mouth.
In through your nose,
Out through your mouth,
In through your nose,
And out through your mouth.
Feel into your body where you feel this anger.
Where does this anger lie inside of you?
How does it feel in your body?
Is it a squeezing feeling?
Is it a dull ache?
Just focus on that part of your body.
Now I want you to give that anger a shape.
Generally we tend to think of anger as a jagged,
Edged shape,
Hard edges.
We're just going to take those edges and gently start to soften them.
In our minds eye we're gently shaving off those jagged edges.
Making this anger smoother.
Just more of a gentle shape until you end up with a ball.
I want you to take this ball in your hands and hold it.
Hold it as if you are holding a small animal or a flower.
Something precious.
Just really giving it the time it needs.
Focusing this ball with love.
I want you to direct your personal light of love towards this ball.
Feeling it radiating from your heart to this ball.
Focusing all of your love and feel that feeling of love in your heart.
Gently surrounding your ball of anger.
Tending to it.
Feel how the anger has changed.
From this jagged,
Edged shape to this softened ball in your hands.
Now I'd like you to imagine a cup full of a cool liquid.
Texture of melted chocolate or honey in this cup.
A really cool temperature.
Icy cold.
Imagine the colour of this liquid.
How does it look to you?
Just taking the cup and gently pouring this liquid over your ball.
Seeing the sides becoming covered with this viscous liquid.
Completely surrounding your ball in cool liquid.
Until this liquid starts to harden around the ball.
Completely encasing it in its coolness.
Just taking this ball now and bringing it towards your heart.
And thanking that anger for being there to serve you,
To show you where you need to pay attention to your inner child.
Falling out for your love.
Just needs love.
Just needs love.
I want you to imagine now that you're sitting at the foot of a glorious oak tree with your ball held tightly in your hands.
I want you to take a moment to make a small hole.
Just dig a small hole with your hands.
Gently parting the soil.
And you're going to place your ball inside of this hole.
And thanking it all the while for giving you what it needed for how it served you at the time.
And now covering that ball with soil.
Sprinkling the soil.
Allowing mother nature to hold you.
To hold your anger and caress it with love.
Just being thankful for this moment of release.
Now just placing your left hand on your heart.
And thanking yourself for this moment.
Knowing that this is available to you at any time.
By placing your hand on your heart.
Drawing your energy inward.
And if your times feel too much,
You can always come into yourself.
Just gently starting to become aware of the sounds in the room.
Deepening your breath in through your nose.
Out through your mouth.
Gently fluttering your eyelids open.
I want to thank you for joining me and for putting your trust in me today.
And allowing me to hold space for you.
And I wish you a beautiful rest of day.
And I will see you again next time.
