Welcome to this guided meditation on mindfulness today we will cultivate an awareness of the present moment learning to be fully engaged with here and now let's embark on this journey of presence find a quiet comfortable position either seated with a straight back or lying down gently close your eyes signaling to your mind and body that it is time to turn inwards bring your attention to your breath noticing its natural rhythm feel the cool air as you inhale and the warmth as you exhale don't try to change it simply observe as you breathe you might find your mind starting to wander carried away by thoughts memories or plans that's okay simply acknowledge them and then gently bring your focus back to your breath now shift your attention to the sounds around you without judgment or identification simply listen it might be the distant chirping of birds the hum of an appliance or the faint sound of traffic just let these sounds be not attracting stories or reaction to them gradually bring your awareness to the sensations of your body feel the weight of your body against the floor or chair notice the temperature of the room against your skin maybe there is a gentle breeze or the soft texture of your clothing be present with these sensations without trying to change or judge them mindfulness is about observing without criticism so if emotions or feelings arise let them be do not push them away or cling to them just recognize them and return to your breath imagine a vast blue sky thoughts and feelings are just like clouds passing by some are light and wispy others thick and imposing but all are transient they come and go while the vastness of the sky remains unchanged as we draw this meditation to a close let's cultivate a mindful intention whisper to yourself I am present I am here each moment is a gift slowly begin to deepen your breath awakening to the present room gently move your fingers your toes bringing motion back into your body and when you're ready open your eyes carrying this mindfulness with you into the rest of your day thank you for sharing this moment of mindfulness may you move through your day with presence awareness and peace namaste
