Give yourself 5 minutes to simply connect with and feel your breath. This guided practice will use the technique of visualization to help you do exactly that - notice your breath and make it smooth and gentle. Appropriate for any time of the day.

So make yourself comfortable,

You can lay or sit down,

What's important is that you feel unconstrained and free of any discomfort.

Place one hand on your belly and one hand on your chest.

If you're okay with that then close down the eyes.

Give yourself some time here,

There's no rush,

You've got nowhere to be.

For the next few minutes I want you to simply feel your hands and notice how their movement manifests the movement of your breath.

Feel your hands floating up on the inhale and coming back down on the exhale.

Breathing in and out,

In and out,

In and out.

Now imagine that your belly is a little balloon.

With every inhale you're gently inflating it and with every exhale you're gradually letting the air out.

You need to be very gentle and delicate with your balloon.

Keep on breathing into it,

Noticing how your hands float away and back towards your body.

Breathing in and out,

In and out,

In and out.

Gently let go of the balloon visualization and stay here for just a few more moments soaking in whatever sensations and emotions this practice might have invoked for you.

And when you're ready,

Open your eyes.
