Welcome.

May this space embrace you,

Offering peace and ease.

We'll ease into this meditation with a mudra practice,

Bringing our hands into a shape held by the unseen.

I'll guide you through this mudra with movements for the right and left hand.

I invite you to practice this mudra,

However that may look,

With the space and ability that is available in this moment.

If it feels better in your body to do this mudra using the opposite hand,

Please do so.

The shank mudra is a sacred hand gesture that symbolizes the divine conch shell.

This mudra is associated with purification,

Self expression,

And inner harmony.

We'll begin by finding a comfortable seat.

Sit in a soft,

Relaxed posture,

Seated or lying down.

Invite ease into the body.

Soften the busyness of your mind and pause in this space.

You are here.

Bring your hands together,

Bringing your left thumb near the center of your right palm.

Wrap the fingers of your right hand around your left thumb,

Gently enclosing it.

Extend your left index finger to touch the tip of your right thumb.

The hands now resemble a conch shell,

A symbol of divine sound and spiritual awakening.

Hold the mudra close to your heart,

Rest it in your lap or lay it on your chest.

Close your eyes and begin to bring your awareness to your breath.

Take slow,

Deep inhales,

Feeling the energy of the mudra flowing through your body.

Feeling the long,

Slow exhales leaving the body,

Leaving the trace of peace in the depths where it will quietly unfold.

Resting here for a few moments.

May the peace you found here remain with you always.

Gently releasing the hands from this mudra position,

Allowing the eyes to open.

The light in me sees,

Honors and reflects the light in each and every one of you.

Namaste.
