Good morning,
Welcome to your morning practice.
Finding your comfortable seat,
Allow the spine to grow tall,
Shoulders dropping away from your ears.
Take a deep breath in as you allow your body to come into stillness.
Once you are settled,
Notice if your teeth are clenched,
Relaxing the jaw,
Bringing a slight smile to the face.
Allow the eyes to soften and tune into your breath.
Feel the breath coming in through your nose.
And as you breathe,
Tune into how you are feeling this morning.
Noticing the body,
Notice the state of your mind,
Noticing all emotions,
Welcoming everything,
Greeting your experience today as it is.
Welcoming this moment as it is.
Relaxing into this brand new day,
Starting your morning with intention,
Calm,
Clarity.
Take another deep breath in through the nose,
Drinking in as much air as you can.
And as you exhale,
Sighing the breath out through the mouth.
A few more just like that.
As you inhale,
Growing breath awareness.
As you exhale,
Allow the body to settle a little deeper,
Allowing the body to breathe you.
Connect to wherever you notice your breath most distinctly.
Noticing the depth,
The length,
The pace of each breath.
Observe each breath flowing in through the nose.
Observing the breath as it flows out of you.
Flowing in,
Flowing out.
One breath after the other.
How many breaths can you be with?
That's all we're doing.
Noticing each breath as it comes into the body.
Staying with the breath as it leaves the body.
Noticing when the mind is not on the breath.
Gently bringing it back over and over.
Feeling each breath enliven you.
Deep breath in,
Deep breath out.
Each morning we open ourselves to pure possibility.
We rise to a new day,
Feeling restored and rejuvenated.
If we really pause and listen,
We can hear the whole world awaken.
As we sit here together,
Quiet,
Let's take a moment to imagine the unknown of today.
See if you can bring in a beginner's mind,
Seeing the world with fresh eyes like a child.
I wonder what unexpected things can happen today.
Let's embrace this day with gratitude.
We have another day to learn,
To live,
To breathe,
To imagine,
To create,
To care,
And to love.
Let's move into this day with a sense of service to ourselves and others.
What contribution will I make today?
What qualities do I want to carry into this day?
A generous heart,
Self-compassion,
Patience,
Focus,
Finding your intention for today.
Hold this intention as you move into your day.
Take one more deep breath with me and know that anything can happen in just one day.
